OK hear it is... Its only a test fit and this paticular bumper is tacked together vs being fully welded. the production model will be about 2'' narrower than this one and it will sit about .125" higher up than it is in the pictures...

its close but it doesn't interfear with the AC line....

even though the bumper comes out far to allow for the use of a integreated solinoid winch, it still retains a steller approach...

kinda dark but this is a view from the front.....

I'm shopping bumpers for my FJ and have been watching this thread. It looks great, what is the plate thickness and approximate weight? Also, I've missed recovery hardware - is that the "center hoop"?

Plate thickness: On this bumper we're using a combination of 10 gage and 7 gage.. 10 gage messures out to be about .135" thick so jst a bit over an 1/8th of an inch. 7 gage is about 0.18" thick, just under 3/16" thick. Most people would probobly just refurer to them by the common inch messurement, calling 0.18', 3/16" and so-forth. Its a little wired when it comes down to it though becuase some one could say there using 1/8th inch and be using 11 gage wich is just a bit below that in real size: somthing like .118 or somthing...?... On our other bumpers we use 3/16" and somtime 1/4", but becuase there were so many concerns with weight for the FJcruiser crew we decide to adjust on this bumper. Weight, with a single hoop is going to be about 105 lbs, which is about what all our other front bumpers weigh.

The hoop isn't the recovery point, but standard on all our bumpers are 1" thick recovery shackle mounts that are integrated directly into the winchmount & frame mount... In the pictures we took you can see some big gapeing holes the rectangular ones are where the recover shackles go, & the round ones are for the PIAA 510's....

so the center hoop is basically the grill guard bar?

Ya, sorta. Its there mostly to protect the lights, grill, & to add a bit more style. There will be on that is a full Bull bar style one, but it will come a bit after the ones with the center hoop....

jfonz, will y'all be posting some pictures of the finished product, that is the bumper/center hoop combo/lights set up on an fj? Will that be mapletons set up?

Most of us are waiting on some good pictures i think. Also I know how the camera can play some tricks with proportions. Can you take some pictures from a good distance away to avoid this distortion? Not too much distance but just enough. I'd be interested of the front and side profiles.

Also, for those of us not planning on installing a permanent winch, what will cover up the winch bumper opening?

Thanks for the help! Great job on a great looking bumper! Looking forward to reading the reviews soon to come.

Sure thing. The picture that we took the first time around were close mostly becuase it was getting dark and we needed the flash in order to get a decent picture. The next round of picture will be outdoors and most likely offroad. Ya, mapltons will be the first but his being finished will mean that production has started, orderings can commence and that orders can start being filled... Shortly after that we hope to have the full bull bar styled ones availible aswell.

As far as covering up the winch opening, we have had several people mention that to us spacifically and we have a few ideas. 1 would be to just have a plate that would cover it up. The other would be to have a bar that extends from light tab (that might be somthing that I forgot to mention above, it comes with 2 light tabs for light up to 6" in diameter) to light tab and then let you guys stick a few lights across there more infront of the hole. That would probobly be what I would recomend But either one will be pretty easy to do.... We can make a few, show you all the options and then let you decide....
