did a few searches and didn't find too many ideas..

I smashed my exhaust backing into a boulder this weekend as I was letting the rear bumper slide over it, so i need to redo it...

I want an exhaust that exits from under the truck, but not in a vunerable area.. I thought i had it tucked enough the first time, but obviously not...

I don't feel like having it exit under the truck but may end up just doing that.

I want to add rear quarter sliders and the old placement would have been in the way anywho. any pics of clever routing? should i forget it and go under? I sleep in the truck a ton, and sometimes I let it idle to warm me up, so under scares me..

pic of the old routing in this thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/166720-new-heart-same-soul-3.html

it has 35's and a 1.25" body lift now too. there is more clearance avaiable... also, It has a 3" tail pipe.

Here's how mine is routed.

here is mine tucked to the frame rail above the axle with a down turn.

cool, yeah mine was a lot like yours rockdoc. I am thinking a downturn under the truck will be the way to go. i was out there looking and I just don't see any other way to do it unless it goes through the bumper or something silly like that.

nice new e brake cable cfdlighthouse... looks like i'll be needing one of those now too. (muffler toasted mine)

perfect.

I am going to see if 3" fits that way and go for it.

nice job, and great looking rig!

My pipe is 2.5" and fits with no problems, but I can't guarantee the 3" pipe. Let us know if it works.

Hey,

I'm like you, I'm not a fan of exhaust turn-downs under the body of the vehicle. I don't care what anyone says its not safe. ON my v-8 the exhaust pipe exists behind the rear tire and clears the body of the vehicle. My personal view is to stay away from any exhaust setup that does not vent to the exterior / or clear the body of the vehicle.

above the frame but still exits out from under the rig. It hits the ground right in front of my left rear tire.
I have never got it hung up, and i have drug my truck over plenty of things. I smashed my stock exhaust like my 3rd time out wheelin.

I took my exhaust over the frame where it start to come up to it. I first cut the bottom portion of the wheel well out and rewelded it to leave a space for the exhaust to ride over the frame but under the wheel well. I then took it along the top portion of the frame and came down and out through the rock slides just past the rear shackle. It will never get touched, banged or hit ever again. Its cool cause you cant see where the exhaust is except for the rear wheel well where it comes over the frame for about 8 inches. I'll get some photos to you when I find that freakin camera.
