Leaving tomorrow to Europe to get some more Diesel related 40/60/70/80 series parts and was wondering if there are people searching for certain things.

Here is a list what I CAN NOT FIND THERE or if I do it might end up in my collection ;)

No ac parts
No pink unicorn NOS parts
No accessories that came only on JDM trucks
No rustfree body parts (I am bringing some new though)

The dealers in my area also are very reluctant to sacrifice theyr time to give me some quotes on new parts so no requests for that please.

What I can find there is more like this :

Engines and transmissions 1HZ,1HDT,3B,12HT and the matching H55F 5 speed ,prices are market value

Already have sourced some Full Floaters for 40/60/70 and even a set of 60 cable locked axles(already have a few interested parties for the cable locked ones)

The obvious things as rear doors and mirrors and other 70 series parts I am bringing regardless.

Sometimes when I am digging trough my contacts parts barns, there are parts that I will not bring because they value them to high to make sense for me to buy them. However if you are already looking for this part for the past 2 year and are willing to pay the asking price I might bring it with me and just make a few bucks on my shipping expense.

And yes I will be bringing a few complete trucks for myself but will not sacrifice space in my containers for third party vehicles.Parts I can always squeeze in somewhere.

Majority of the parts I will be seeing are 70 series so those have the biggest chance of actually being found.

Let me know what you are looking for.

Plan is to receive the container at the end of August in North Texas.

OEM snorkel airbox?

First PINK UNICORN request

Only the tropics and Latin America had these AFAIK.I had the opportunity to buy a few dozen of those a few years ago from the NATO/UN vehicles but passed on them....maybe I should have bought them but they where for 2010 and up 70 series anyways.

Forgot to mention but all Cruisers except the few LJ/KZJ series are 24V.

In process of having Onur Azeri go pick up the 82 BJ42 in Vancouver. If you remember from the addd, there were some fine cracks in the head and he didn't have the money to fix everything so he did head gasket, pre cup chambers fuel lines, pump and a few other things. I have been talking with Onur about getting another 3b and doing a rebuild on my own to learn all this and just swap it whenever its needed.

Whats your thoughts and what do you think a head for bj42 3b would cost along with whatever else you think would be needed to complete the job if and when this engine ever takes a crap.
Appreciate your help!
Jon

Sorry to bother you I did not know that was a pink unicorn.

Pending price I would love a set of 60 series convex both sides mirrors and a set of 70 series mirrors if convex both sides. I am also shopping for a set of the large rectangular Land Rover mirrors that are similar - in general shape- to the 70 series mirrors. I can provide pics if needed.
PM me if you want to move this forward.

Hey Mark do you mean with convex that the glass has a round shape a bit instead of the flat?

I have a line on some new OEM mirrors but will have to see them first,I will have some used OEM 70 series mirrors. All will be the black plastic housing non electrical adjust mirror, this was the only mirror available on Euro spec 70 series Cruisers.

I know where to get new OEM 60 (same like the euro 40 style)Euro mirrors but I think they where like almost 200 Euro a piece. The rectangular shaped plastic mirror can be found cheaper and I might find a few used ones.

This is exactly the kind of input I was looking for since I sometimes stumble across these but they have no value for me.

BTW the Land rover mirror is that OEM or aftermarket and new or used?

Thanks

Every market has it's own unique parts and I do not expect everyone to know all the differences between these markets. But if I am not pointing it out a few times there might be 5 people asking me for the same parts a few replies down the road.

That Sounds fine... pics would confirm my interest

Too $$$ I know they are available via a couple of sources for $$$... I'd be interested for $

Joe,
I need an accelerator cable to fit a 2H from a 45 or 60 series. If you can find a nice one. It was great to meet you in person last week. Have a safe trip.

Thanks,
Michael <><

Hi Michael

Unfortunatly a 2h was never very popular in Europe and might be hard to find but I will ask around to see if someone has one.Are they still available new that you know?

Hey Mark I think if you are looking to get them for pennies at the $ I will not be able to find these. Most of my sources are Land Cruiser specialists and know the value of what they have.Good part in buying from them vs a private person is that I avoid wasting my time to drive 500 miles to go and see a perfect 12HT /H55 combo from a private person just to find out when I get there that it actually is a seized 2H/H42 combo they are selling.......and yes this has happened in the past to me.Granted it was before the digital age when we had to stop at a pay phone and hope the guy was home to pick up his phone.

Good thing about buying from cruiser specialist is that I save a lot of time and get better quality parts, yes less profit for me but piece of mind when reselling parts is very valuable. Whatever they offer me for pennies at the $ I buy anyways to help offset the 10K cost of bringing a full 40 ft container (gas, airfare, customs broker, shipping ,port fees, transport from and to port .....etc)

I will look around anyways and see what I can bring because there are several people loking for these, same goes for the 60 series oem fender flares. They are available and if I find them cheap I will bring them because everyone wants em asl long as they are far enough from OEM price.

BTW guys I will be visiting every contact only once so it would be very hard to start exchanging pictures and details back and forth, new parts are easy used parts I would have to know what the max amount would be in what condition.

OEM 70 series mud flaps?

Most of these have the metal frame that holds these rusted out,I have found a Cruiser specialist that has these new in stock not sure if these are the models with or without fender flares but the New ones would cost around 75$ each landed in the US.

I will see what I can get in the used mud flaps from the 70's I will be parting out, that might be a bit more cost effective.

I'm not sure if it is available or not. Could be tough to come by in USA. I have seen them new in AUS, but only for RHD. I need the LHD version (should be longer).

Thanks,
