My fridge has twice this weekend gone bye bye. It start d beeping and stopped cooling. Hit the reset both times and got it to work, but twice it just died like that.

@Izzyandsue

The beep is to let you know that it has exceeded it's threshold temperature range. If it gets too hot, it will cut off to save itself. If you reset and re-start and place it in a cooler location, it will continue to do just fine.

I had mine out under the awning of my camper all last week keeping drinks cold at Lake Jocassee. One afternoon it did just as yours did. Beeped and shut off. The sun was beating down on it and I realized that it had gotten too hot. I moved it to a shadier spot and never had another problem. If you keep it in your truck in the summer heat, you need to take measures to keep it cool. At the bare minumum, roll down your windows to let the heat out. Raising the lift gate would help too.

Someone posted the manual a while back. I think its somewhere in this thread, or maybe one of the SC clubs

If I know I'm going to be using the fridge in super hot temps, I like to freeze a couple of water bottles to add in along with the other stuff so it doesn't have to work as hard. It seems to help with the beep as well.

Sounds about right, I saw the max operating temp is 50C, about 125F. Thermometer on my kitchen window registered 120 in open air, so inside the truck was much hotter.

Reminded me of my earlier career in Xerox, machine techs would keep spare toner cartridges in the trunk of their cars, and that would melt into clumps or a solid block of styrene....

Its good to want things ;)

I built a reflectix (google it) cover for mine, since I was going open top with the 40. The plan was just to reflect the sun, rather than for any insulation. Built the box with an opening lid that I taped to the actual lid. IE: don't have any hassle of opening cover before opening fridge.

Worked.

Hi. I have had my envirocooler for over a year now. It will no longer power on. I have tried both plugs nothing....

A few months ago the cigarette lighter plug broke, I have since repaired that. But the regular plug won't even work.

I have looked at the mother board but I don't know enough to know what I am looking at. Nothing looks out of place.

Does anyone know how to diagnose? Has anyone else had this issue?

You can check for a fuse in the plug connector where it plugs into the cigarette lighter adapter. You can also test voltage with a voltmeter in the fridge end of both the 12 volt plug and 120 volt brick. Make sure the polarity is the same on both the 120 volt and 12 volt connectors. When you repaired the ligther plug, what broke and how did you repair it?

Other than that, there may be a fuse between the power socket on the cooler and the control board. I wouldnt know how to get to that to look, but those are starting points.

The spring and fuse came out of the lighter plug. So I cut the cord and rewired a new lighter plug. Polarity is fine on the rewire.

I think the challenge is I also have the AC plug and it also is not working. I have hit the reset button for more than 3 seconds, I have pressed and held the power button. NADA

To bad I am road tripping tomorrow and will have to use an ice cooler, I think this one is dead. I will look for a fuse near the mother board but I didn't see one, I will have to open it up more when I return from my road trip.

Thanks for the reply Steve

So will a environ cooler kill the battery in the cruiser if left running for about 2.5 days while at expo east? Bringing my boys and one of them takes meds that have to stay cold.

Shouldn't have a problem.

I've been waiting for years for one to come up for sale lol.
