97 1fz 225,000 original motor, head gasket, plugs, wires. Very strong, pulls strong. New starter, and plenty of maintenance.

Engine life 96 FJ 80

1996 with 190k
1st head gasket at 130k (oe gasket)
2nd head gasket  at 182k (oe gasket) which required pulling the motor to address electrolysis on block/head deck. Decided on new oe shortblock to alleviate milling.

1997 1FZFE -214,000 regular maintenance, still running strong (except fan clutch)

1993 1FZFE 298k, never rebuilt, all original parts except starter, alternator and power steering pump. Just replaced original PHH 20 miles ago.

1994 1FZ-FE 156,000 never cracked open running great.

97 1FZ-FE
Gas engine
Almost 150,000 miles
Original engine
PO is a mud member and judging by his old posts nothing has ever been done to it.
Due for a valve cover gasket and not much else...

...now ask me about the mileage on the herd of Toyota vans, Corollas and Camrys I've owned ;-)

96 1FZ-FE 211,000 miles on original engine. Regular maintenance and going strong.

Wife's: 1996 1FZ-FE; 165,000; original motor; head gasket replaced and top 1/2 refreshed at 145K miles due to minor head gasket leak. New plugs, wires, dist. Runs like a champ.

Mine: 1996 1FZ-FE; 152,000; original motor; head gasket replaced and top 1/2 refreshed at 145K miles preemptively due to supercharger installation and wanting to not have to do it after. Runs great - gets an annoying P0401 (EGR) code.

96 1FZ-FE gas, 169,800, original motor, nothing other than routine maintenance parts and gaskets. Runs strong and uses almost no oil (like 1/2 quart over 3K miles).

95 1FZ-Ehead gasket rebuilt at 252,000 miles currently have 264,000 miles and runs like a champ.

93 1FZ-FE, 206K, Runs great. All original AFAIK. I've had it for the last 100K

Tell us more about your study.

1995 1fz 237k all original, running strong, slight t-chain rattle on startup.

93 1FZ-FE, 206K, Runs great. All original AFAIK. I've had it for the last 100K

Tell us more about your study.
I am trying to compare the life of the drive train in a gas guzzling internal combustion engine vehicle with the life of the drive train in a hybrid/electric car to include the battery. I am using the Toyota Prius so I thought I would keep with the same brand and use the Land Cruiser since build quality is top notch with Toyota. I rather hate school and would rather be wheeling.

93 1fz. 205k and some change. for sure no rebuild but i'm not POSITIVE if either of the POs replaced any components. i dont think they did. either way, it runs like a champion.

91 3FE
Gas
205,000
No Engine Work-Performance top notch.

94 1FZ, 234,000 miles, no major work one. Starts every time.

Knock on wood
