I have searched this until I am cross-eyed and now realise that I likely wouldn't recognise the correct answer on my own.

I discovered a broken wire in a connector in the drivers kick panel.

I know the part number for the connector is 90980-11001, I am try to see if this connector is available with pigtails. I don't know if Toyota use a standard prefix for connectors with pigtails or if they are a completely different part number.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

they don't have pigtails but they do sell connector housings and repair wires. if you put the part number into the wiring repair manual listed here in the resources section it will tell you the part numbers for the repair wires you need.

Toyota sells what they call "repair wire" in 160 or 500mm length which is a wire pre-crimped with the right terminal.
There's a table of connectors and corresponding repair wires in the Toyota "Wire Harness Repair Manual" you can find online.
82998-12340 is the 160mm repair wire listed for connector 90980-11001.

Expensive but easy to use. Alternatively, you can source the right terminals (in this case type 2.3 II /090II female) from suppliers like Yazaki or Sumitomo and crimp them yourself.

what he said

the Resources section here has the wire repair manual pdf. its a bit of a learning curve to digest it all, but its VERY well done. de-pinning can be a bit of a PITA

Dealers buy the pre-crimped repair wire, but you can tool up and buy your own uncrimped male/female terminals to DIY. like this: Home » Shop » Connectors / Harnesses » Sumitomo » Sumitomo TS / SL / DL 090 Unsealed Female Terminal 0.5 - 1.25 mm2 ( 20 - 16 AWG ) - https://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/product_info.php/products_id/3342

@HDJ80L Thanks for your input.
I found the reference in the Toyota Connector pdf for the P/N 82998-12340 however the document shows Blue/Yellow color of the wire. Am I missing something that allows me to order different color combinations (I need red/orange) or is the blue/yellow the only option?

@Irish Reiver Not convinced that the color codes in that document are entirely accurate, but either way, there is not really a color choice when it comes to repair wire. If you search for 82998-12340 online its definitely a green wire. 82998–12360 is listed as another option for this terminal type with a thinner sleeve (easier to bend/install) that should be blue wire color.

The color pigtail that Toyota supplies is generic because each terminal size is used in multiple connectors in multiple circuits. So the short answer is no. You get what you get.
If you need the factory color, you can order the terminals from Ballenger Motorsports - High Performance Electronics - https://www.bmotorsports.com/ and get close to factory colors from Dual Striped Hookup Wire - https://www.milspecwiring.com/Dual-Striped-Hookup-Wire_c_404.html

Thanks guys, ordered some up this morning. I can always add a label with some clear heatshrink say "identifies as red/orange". Apparently that is all the rage these days 🙄🤣
