My apologies if this is an old question, but I would like to know the build year for my engine which seems to pre-date the published information. I would also like to know the proper OEM spark plug as I have seen lengths of 3/8, 1/2 and 3/4. Any information would be appreciated. The engine number is F 248996.

Thanks to all of you.

Thank you very much JohnnyC. Where is the cast stamp located on the driver's side? Where do I find info on it? You have been very helpful and it is greatly appreciated confirming the W14EXR-U plug which has the 3/4" threaded section.

SergP,

I am sorry, but I am not smart about these things. The link with the date list only goes back to 1969 and I don't see where the other link has any info on a driver's side casting stamp. Thank you for your help.

You don't need to remove a valves cover to see those numbers (on the left side of the block)
