EGT probe on 1HD-FT & on 2UZ-FE? (1 Viewer)

Hello! Any tips and tricks on where to put the EGT probe on an inline-6 turbo diesel (i.e. 1HD-FT)? The Auto Meter instructions say about an inch from the turbo itself, but what say you?

As for the V-8 gasoline 2UZ-FE, I'll put an EGT probe in it too. But where, considering I have TRD Tundra headers (2000 deg F ceramic coating by Jet Hot) ? Just an inch after the header but before the catalytic converters?

If it helps I mounted the probe in the collecter as I have headers on a 1FZ.

The thermocouple in My Cummins is about three inches behind the exhaust turbine housing. Closer would be better.
