PM Sent. Looks like I may need one. :(

Where do I buy this kit, or is @ponytl still giving them out for free? 🙃

Note: I am not in need of one for my 100, but seems like a nice-to-have, just in case, for the 2600 mile (round trip) family vacation I have planned for April.

I bought one of these thinking that was the fix, it happened that my fuse box needed to be replaced completely due to broken connector housing. Anyway, this product is highly Recomended and I truly believe it will fix the issues described in this tread. However, if someone wants to buy one, I will offer mine for sale and I will include shipping.

So at this point since almost all of the 100 series cruisers are getting close to or greater than 20 years old, should we not just treat this a preventive maintenance item and go ahead install this before there are problems?

My daughters going to college soon 3 hours away and it would make me sleep easier at night knowing this issue was taken care before she runs into a problem, when it’s raining, cold, on the side of a road with no cell service....

What am I missing?

Hers is an 02...I’m guessing all 100 series/470 have this issue?

Just installed this kit today on my 99 LC, have no idea why I waited so long? My rig had gotten to the point that you never knew when you might be stranded with the no start issue. I was changing the 20A fuse and it would get me by for a week or a month, only to leave me stranded with the dreaded blinking security light and crank with no start.

medtro kit was just what I needed, thanks again for your help in getting me back up and running...

How did you purchase the kit? I just started a "conversation" with medtro to ask. This is my first time on this site so I'm not sure if that is the way to contact him.

It looks like my 2002 LX470 had one but one of the wires crumbled when I was inspecting the wires. I fixed the wire, but it's still not starting. Is the an installation diagram?

I just got the kit from @medtro and installed it. Car started right up. I highly recommend going ahead and buying one whether your car is having these issues or not. You never know when you might require it. After dealing with this problem intermittently for over a year, my car finally refused to start altogether, and this kit was a godsend.

This bypass kit bypasses the bad EFI relay circuit in the fuse box so that the immobilizer system gets adequate power supply for starting the car. I made this for myself after my new 30A replacement fuse - initial fix for crank but not start problem, failed to start after 4 days. Some members have showed interest in the kit and asked me to sell this kit.

This bypass kit is for you if:
  • You are told a new fuse box 82720-60023 will fix your intermittent starting problem but you don't want to spend $460 just for the part alone
  • You have intermittent starting problem and you replaced the 20A EFI fuse with 30A fuse or paper clip
  • You have intermittent starting problem and you have been tapping or removing/replacing relays and fuses in the fuse box
  • You want to have this kit in your glove compartment in case you run into this crank and non starting problem
The kit is designed to connect to EFI fuse slot. It is 100% plug and play provided there is no damage to the EFI fuse slot. If your EFI fuse slot is melted or damaged, you will need to connect the kit to the battery.

Kit comes with relay, two fuses (one for spare) and installation instructions. $85 shipped to 48 states. Please send PM for payment info or shipping cost outside 48 states.
