Early FJ25 Differences

Question.
Has anyone ever notice how the intake manifold on FJ25 Land Cruisers is stamped with the
TEQ FJ25 17111? All the ones I have seen are stamped like this. My 1958 FJ25 with the original engine is stamped teq FJ17111 Why the difference? Have you seen this before?
Also, I know FJ25's had the air hole on the front drivers side fender apron. My FJ25 does not have that however is appears it is the original fender apron and even has the outline under the paint of the original oval Toyota emblem with Coronado beige paint underneath it.
Any ideas?

Other way around. Dry paper element did not use the apron inlet. The lip had a gap all the way around. Australia got the paper element while US got mainly oil bath air cleaner.

The FJ25 had the F120 and F135 engines. Believe the change was in 1960 some time. Possible 58 had the F105 which might explain the casting number.

Also, should I add the spare apron with air inlet that I have or leave it original? I have both?

Not fimiliar with the paper element filter on the FJ25. The FJ40 had a paper element filter that had the slot with the plate. It was for cold weather and would draw air from below the exhaust next to the block to get warmer while mixes better with petrol.

Not a expert on the pre F135. Two early 60 FJ25s I had one was missing the head/manifolds/carburetor/valve cover the other had a 2F. Mike Fox (FoxFab) had a F120 that had which had different distributor.

Before switching aprons would be sure the hood latch line up. Have two 61 FJ40s. One with the inlet and one without. The latch is further back to make room for the inlet. If that the case with the paper element air filters on the FJ25 all mine were oil bath type. Do you have a inlet on the air cleaner to hook up the hose from a apron inlet. The FJ40 the inlet was dropped during 61 but air cleaner stayed the same until later (64?).

This is the air cleaner that came with a fj25 parts car I purchased. Confident its fj25, however it may be for a right hand drive truck. Not sure after looking at it.

Pictures of the paper element air cleaners for the FJ25 I've seen do not have that type of inlet instead have a wider cover and slots around the top of the main canister. All early FJ40 oil bath air cleaners after the apron inlet ended still had the raw inlet that could use a hose until around 64.

Pictures of the paper element air cleaners for the FJ25 I've seen do not have that type of inlet instead have a wider cover and slots around the top of the main canister. All early FJ40 oil bath air cleaners after the apron inlet ended still had the raw inlet that could use a hose until around 64.

Here is a photo of my distributor. Does this look correct for F135 engine?

annie's oil bath has the flared inlet like the dry cleaner above (1962). or at least i'm pretty sure it does...maybe not.

never mind...i think the one in my attic has the flanged inlet...i think annie doesn't. but she does have the fj25 17111 manifold. does everyone have the 2 at the end?

Hmmm. My 5/63 build FJ40 also has that manifold, without the '2' at the end.

Am I correct that my carb should have a blue plate in the sight glass on my 1958? I have a several blue ones and a gray plate sd40. I have seen some say gray is earlier. Others say blue.

7B7 came with my 1958 FJ25. Blue plate
3K1 No plate
4J1 has gray plate
4A5 blue plate
2B4 blue plate
Other sd40 I need to check numbers. It has blue plate

I had to closely scan that picture of the 5 carbs on the shelf to see if that was a shelf in a safe. Probably isn’t but probably should be.
