I have been searching for low profile rear bumpers and finally found E&E. I know their skids have been getting rave reviews.

They replied to my inquiry and said we if we can get 10 orders, he would give us the 20 order price ($1450). So far there are 2 pre orders including me, any other interest? Need 8 more! Any interest?? Low Profile Bumper | E&E Off-Road - https://www.ee-offroading.com/product-page/low-profile-bumper

Hey John, Here is our estimated cost range. 1 set $3500 5 sets $2200 each 10 sets $1800 each 15 sets $1600 each 20 sets $1450 each If we get 10 pre orders, we will honor the 20 peace price, as we will make 20 sets and sell them later.

I think those are a really cool option for those of us who beat the bajeezus out of our rear bumpers but don't need the hassle and cost of a full bumper.

Not bad. I’ve always wondered if one of the so cal off road shops could fab up some Prerunner style tube bumpers. Something light with basic recovery and light mount options.

If it worked with the AHC reservoir and pump on the LX, I would be all over this! I have a few of the bits from @turbo8 including the rear AHC spacers and the recovery point and they are all top notch!

@lx200inAR made it work on his AHC equipped LX570. He posted about it here

You can place a pre-order here

The 10 people that pre-order will also get a set of my low profile recovery points that will bolt on to this bumper.

I just messaged them about signing up for the preorder, so that should put us at 4.

Are we at 4?? Only 6 more 200 owners looking for a badass minimal bumper for a great price.

So far I have 5 pre-orders. I believe @gluaisrothai was the 5th.

I probably should put a time limit on this before inflation kills me. :(

A couple of questions before I discuss this mod with the boss at home and join the group buy

- Will this work together with the LRA 12.5 gallon? Can you still drop the 12.5 with this bumper in place?

- Is it made of Aluminum? Will spray painting it black (have a pearl white 200) be easy to do when made of Aluminum?

Some picks from the 12.5 below out of the LRA install manual:

Hey @2021 LC200,

To install the LRA tank, was the spare tire crossmember lowered? If so, roughly how much?

The bumper doesn't interfere with anything between the frame rails besides 2 bolt heads.

All the custom parts are 6061-T6 aluminum, painting shouldn't be an issue.

The manual for the LRA says this, so at face value that is 1-1/8" lower;

"If there is only one set of holes ( later model 200s ), you’ll need to drill another set of holes 28mm ( 1.125 inches ) lower and insert a set of riv-nuts or similar fixtures. This will be the new ( and lower ) attachment point for the “L” brackets. Use the template from the kit to drill holes in the rail to match the mounting position for the spare wheel carrier in the new lower position."

The picture from the manual below (do not know if this is accurate, maybe an Aussie 200 with no charcoal filter fitted slightly higher) shows the spare tire bracket is getting pretty close if not just below the level of the bottom of the frame.

It also shows the L-bracket holdeing the 12.5 LRA, so as long as the E&E bumper is mounted to the bottom of the frame and does not stick out inside the frame it should work out.

Interested in views or better pictures of the E&E bumper installed.

The price listed here is a fantastic deal. I paid much more for the 2nd one made, and it is worth it.

I don't know if the LRA lowers the spare tire crossmember to the next set of holes down, but it sounds like it does. If so, then it will interfere with the install bolts for this bumper. I have the OEM fuel subtank, and it lowers the the spare tire crossmember. I got creative and cut a little bit off the crossmember mounting brackets to make it work. It wasn't too difficult, but it does mean I have to remove the bumper if I want to remove the crossmember and subtank. Honestly that's not an issue though, removing this bumper is really easy, and I pretty much never need to remove the subtank.

Here's how I installed this bumper (lots of photos, take a look):
Just going to cover the basics of the E&E Off-Road rear bumper install here, not every little step. Feel free to ask any questions, the install was good.

Remove the black wing underside covers. Once you get the main bolts out, you'll be able to wrangle it around to get access to the two hidden bolts that secure it to the body panel.

Remove the stock recover points. I was surprised to find out that the frame coating / paint is applied after the recovery points are installed. It's bare metal underneath, and it was starting to rust. I cleaned it up and sprayed some Rustoleum.

Taped and measured some reference points where I would make my first conservative cut on the bumper skin. The point here is to get enough bumper removed to allow the new bumper to be temporarily installed, so that the full gap required can then be measured, marked, and cut. I used a laser level to mark the line, then I traced it with pencil.

Then start cutting! I was happy that all my old scrapes were now cut off.

And here's how I made it work with the subtank:

I didn't have a lot of free time, but I did spend a little time each day and eventually get the canister moved up front. It's in a state that can be considered permanent, but now that I have a working bracket design, I'm going to design a more professional version after my trip that will be laser cut and bent (and can be ordered 1-off as needed for anyone doing the same thing). Routing the wiring up front actually wasn't too bad, and I was able to avoid getting it too close to the exhaust pretty much the whole way. I ended up not needing to relocate the power steering reservoir. These later models do not have the DRL resistor, either (at least not in that location). These later models' canister also has no threaded holes anywhere, unfortunately, so at first it wasn't obvious how I was going to secure it. In the end I strapped it down like a battery, which honestly ended up being a pretty great solution. It may not look like much, but it's solid.

I did modify the brackets that hold up the spare tire brace, so that they would work correctly with the E&E (@turbo8) rear bumper mounting bolt. Test fit & works perfectly. Painted the cut brackets for corrosion prevention, then will install everything related to the spare tire tomorrow or Saturday. The frame holes for dropping the brackets already exist, but are not threaded. The rearmost two (per side) are the correct size for the m8 rivnut, but the frontmost is smaller and has to be drilled out slightly (7/16" bit).

(Don't worry, I will paint the brackets before permanent installation.)

Thanks very much FerrisBueller, that explains a lot.

Do i see it correct that for dropping the spare tire bracket and 12.5 LRA you would only have to undo the blue arrow marked bolt each side?

And you can leave in place the E&E bumper and these two "vertical" bolts into the bottom of the frame?

Did you get the bumper black powder coated at a place which does like light alloy wheels perhaps?
