I think if this was going to be done properly, the bracket would be modified to accommodate the front facing support threads and rubber bushing in the AHC pump. In my mind that would look like a bump on the top of the support bracket with a hole to accept the bushing. You can see the front mount unsupported in this picture relative to the bracket. I had to mill a small amount for the pump to clear.

Agreed that it would be ideal to have an integral support.

I made a quick and dirty solution using a stainless steel cushion clamp. I should have checked before mounting but I believe it's a 1" clamp. In retrospect, I should have left it as a P style clamp using one hole instead. And should have spent the time to thread and bolt but I'm also trying to make it to a trip this wekeend.

Ordered mine yesterday...are folks just choosing to not run spare tires and bring glue treads and plugs instead? I've always ran a spare, but feel like going minimal on this build is more of what I want to do.

There are no issues with running a spare in the stock location with the bumper. Keep in mind, if going to larger tires (35"+), the max spare tire size is around 34" in the stock location.

Yeah, I'll be bigger than 34" tires for sure, so that's why I was saying that. Sorry for the confusion.

Chris
I have 35" tires and carry the 34" spare. I'll probably move up to 37s when the 35s wear out and will still carry the 34" spare along with plugs. I may get some of those glue treads too.

I'm drawing a blank on who made a nice mount inside the cargo area for a 37" spare, but that is an option.

Another option is a hitch mounted spare

Yeah, I think this go around I'm just going to skip carrying one all together. :) We'll see...
