That's what I thought too given my height! I had texted @Box Rocket as he is very well versed in the Slinky kits and he had me grab the part numbers off the spring (AC7501) and he confirmed those were the same springs that he had which would be the heavies. I'd say mine is probably a little higher in the rear than what you have shown there. I'll try and get a picture of mine on level ground shortly and post that up. Do you know the part numbers of your spring? Thanks!

Just went out and crawled under the truck with a flash light - didn’t see any numbers on the springs.

I also checked my measurements and I was previously off or the truck settled a little over the past year. Front hub to fender 21” on the dot. Rear 22.75” on one side (can’t remember), 22” on the other. I initially removed the oem spring isolators (they were shot) and installed 10mm OME spacers.

Kinda annoyed at the difference although from behind on level ground I can’t tell.

Do you think I have the driver & passenger springs swapped ??

Also do your springs look as compressed as mine at the top ??

So the story turns...I actually heard back from @Box Rocket and confirmed his part numbers for the heavies were different than mine. We were mistaken yesterday. So I in fact do have the mediums and will work on getting the heavies ordered and installed.

Mine looks similarly compressed which would be normal for the progressive spring. I'll get them swapped out as soon as I can get those after Cruise Moab is over. Shout out to @Box Rocket for figuring all this out for me even though he doesn't even work for the company. Ha!

top few winds of the coil should be fully collapsed at ride height except for part of the last wind. That’s the dual rate area of the coil. That last wind of the top section (lighter rate) is what absorbs all the small bumps that don’t cause a big deflection or compression of the spring. At droop those collapsed winds open up to allow more droop than linear springs and remain “captured” and putting downward force on the tire (traction) instead of a linear coil that would drop out of the coil bucket and have no more downward force on the tire.

easier to see on the front coils in my 80. But the rear setup is nearly identical to the 100 Series. At least the shocks and coils are.

I love the finish on the Slee rear bumper. Is it textured? Any idea what the color is called?

@Box Rocket you're the man!

Thanks for the clarification on the upper coils and more importantly I appreciate the detective work that went into identifying the correct spring part #s.

Btw - your 80 is what dreams are made of

Doesn’t have any texture to it. It’s smooth, a semi-gloss. You can see details on Slee’s powder coat on their site below:

Haven't posted any updates in quite a while. Life has been extremely stressful this year and with so much going on, including preparations for a new baby, we haven't gotten out much this year. The truck has seen a few updates:

1. Sorted out the spring issue in the rear. Finally got the correct rear spring installed in the rear and it's set up good.
2. Finally got the front and rear lockers installed.
3. Regear took place at the time of the locker install.
4. Installed the s-pod switches in a new spot to the left of the steering wheel.
5. Fixed the rear subwoofer that had the common dried out woofer foam.
6. Got the new Group 31 battery installed with Slee tray.
7. Got the ARB twin compressor up and running.

Here's how it's set up now:

Overall it is looking pretty good I think. Everything is set up and ready to roll. The sad part is we haven't even off-roaded it yet. We have taken it south for a few camping trips but nothing more than a fire service has it seen. We plan to, just life is too hectic sometimes.

We also just clocked over a year of ownership with the truck. My wife really likes the truck and she definitely enjoys road tripping in this vehicle more than she did with Tacoma. We can say that we miss having a truck bed. We thought we'd be good without it but we really do miss it. The Cruiser also feels much larger than the Tacoma did. Maybe not in length but in height and overall road presence, she's big! We still have one hurdle that we haven't gotten over: roof rack vs. garage. The truck misses the entrance of our garage by 1/2 inch and adding the needed roof rack for our RTT hasn't happened because of that. I don't think we're willing to park the truck outside just to have the rack on so we're trying to figure it out. We've thought everything from let's get the garage door lifted to let's downsize the tires to let's get a new truck. We're all over the place. I do miss driving the Tacoma and still would say I probably liked it more than I have the Cruiser but we really haven't done any real exploring with the Cruiser to "fall in love" with it. Just normal commuting and around town stuff which is obviously not what the truck is set up for. Maybe its time for another build. Haha!

What part number springs did you end up going with? That looks like the 75mm (3”) heavies in the rear. I have the 2” heavies and definitely not sitting that high.

I have the 7511’s now. That apparently is the heavy rate. I also ran the intermediate and the extra heavies when trying to figure out what was supposed to be the 7511’s From the beginning.

That makes sense. I knew it looked taller than mine.

Just an FYI:

The 7501 are 75mm (3") intermediate but installed on a loaded 100 compress to be 50mm (2") heavies. This is the info I got from Kevin Brown from Endless Horizon Outfitters where I purchased my kit.

They have 50mm (2") intermediate springs also, but not sure on the part numbers for that.

@duvinclunk have you had a chance to wheel the setup yet? I'm curious how the tire and wheel combo did with compression.

I'm going down the rabbit hole of trying to get a bit bigger after getting high centered on the rear differential but so many conflicting ideas/thoughts on what works.

Appreciate it!

Sorry, I had sold the truck a year ago. I didn't do any seriously wheeling with it, just little stuff. Such a cool truck but just didn't fit our needs. We're back into a truck and are quite happy with it.
