It is getting real now

This is the "official" response which was told to the wife. The real reason, is just for more awesomeness!
The Tacoma and now the Cruiser has been our "Family Adventure" vehicle which gets up unplugged from normal life so that's my justification. The benefit of having separate bank accounts. :) 11 years together and it has worked for us quite well. I buy stuff I want, and she buys what she wants.

Truck is officially under the knife as we speak. Super pumped!

Was able to get a few things done on the truck. Didn't expect to be so busy the last several weeks so things have been going on slower than I have wanted. The lift has been on several days now but looks goofy without tires...more on that in a moment.

I did make some progress by getting the Sleep sliders installed. I braved the awful cold to install them in my garage. Process was easy enough and would have been faster had I had better light and had seen I was getting hung up on an AHC threaded stud on the frame that I couldn't see. Ended up grinding it off and all went on fine after that...

Mine don't seem to be sitting as high as @ikarus 's sliders. I wasn't able to push up higher from what I could see and I've still get a little gap:

Either way, I'm happy with how they turned out.

In other bad/annoying/disappointing news...I called to order the BFG KO2 tires I wanted and was informed they're on a nationwide backorder until February. I could certainly wait but I do not want to. I decided to go with a set of Cooper's but then their 315's only measure to 34.4 and it would be nice to be a hair taller. I then decided on the General Grabber ATX's but haven't seen much feedback on them. So as of now I think I've settled on the Falken Wildpeak AT3W but am nervous as there isn't a ton of user feedback that I'm seeing on them. Any other suggestions?

The new Jeep Gladiator Rubicon is going to have Falken Wildpeak AT / MT from the factory. I assume if a Jeep is going to put it on their Rubicon, it got to be pretty good.

Try looking into Toyo's AT, I heard good things about it. Very quiet on the road, very capable. They offer an "Extreme" version of their AT too, it got more of a square look and reinforce sidewall on it.

Personally, I have the Toyo's RT 33", which is a hybrid of MT and AT. Great on the trails because they can take a beating! Phenomenal grip in all kind of terrains. But they do produce a low deep "humming" noise at highway speed. They're still very quiet compared to most MTs, but a bit louder than ATs. You can't hear it if the music is on though.

In preparation for the 315's, I decided to knock out some pinch weld pounding as well as some fender liner trimming so I don't have to do it after the wheels were on. I ended up flattening it pretty easily, we had done the same on our Tacoma. I then trimmed the fender liner at the bottom and ended up melting it near the bottom and reforming it to hopefully avoid having to trim a ton off. We'll see if that is enough. If not I have no qualms about chopping and pounding more to get them to fit. I'm trying to get better at taking photos during the process (I'm usually trying to get stuff done so fast that I don't even bother) so I'm busting out the iPhone and just taking some quick and sloppy shots. There are other photos out there but figured I'd show the process of mine...

When my truck was up on the lift I checked the rear end and noticed this:

Brake lines stretched super tight! I'm going to have to add this to the list of parts to swap out now before we do any wheeling. Any one know where to get some new longer lines?

Also for fun I measured my factory wheel. Was surprised by how much it weighed:

Hands down, the best pictures of the pinch weld mod on the 100 forum.

Everyone thanks you.

I didn’t even notice the brake lines - who would look at those ?when there’s an Australian piggyback icon in the photo!

Got the tires on finally! I ended up going with the Cooper ST Maxx in the 315/75r16 size due to my decision to keep with something that had a 3ply sidewall. I was going to go Falken AT3W or General ATX but found out both had a 2ply sidewall and I just wanted it as beefy as I can. @ikarus has had good experience with this tire and after doing too much reading on them, it seemed like a great choice with the BFG KO2 being backordered for months in this size. Either way, snapped a few quick shots but will certainly need to get some better ones soon.

They honestly do not look huge but proportional to the truck in my opinion. I think I'd be happy with the 37s...Ha! But with the pinch weld and fender liner modified I'm not getting any rubbing around town even lock to lock or turning and going up a driveway. I'll have to stretch it out soon to see where more trimming needs to take place.

I told you they wouldn’t fit ;)

With the black F5s I think they definitely look more than proportional - would love to see some front / back shots to see stance & width

How’s the power, gear hunting, daily driving, etc with the stock gear ratio? Is it tolerable for a daily or is it lacking?

The lx is looking good

The tire to truck ratio looks great. How's the ride with the stage 4s?

FWIW, as someone on 34s who just went back to mess with my pinch weld again today, you may want to go for the very bottom corner on the inside of the wheel well some more. The last little bit at the bottom of the trim where part of the rocker(?) comes in to play. I trimmed and shaped my liner a bit more but when I have more time will do some more hammering in that same spot.

On my last 2 trucks, one '00 LC and '05 LX, the 5th brake line has not been compatible with my slee kit. They all work at each corner, but my shop has told me twice now the fittings were off. on that rear axle line. I should probably call Slee about that.. Not sure if I ordered something wrong or received something wrong.

I'll get more pictures soon. It's hard as when I get to work its dark and then when I get off its dark. Damn winter! Power may be a little down but really not that bad. There is some more gear changes on the freeway to keep my speed around 70-80 when going up slight hills. So far really not all that bad but haven't even had them on for 24 hours.

I'll check clearances hopefully this weekend as well. So far I'm not aware of any rubbing. I thought I hear a faint rub when turning down a steep driveway into the street but can't say for sure. Will do more looking shortly. Ride with the Stage 4 kit has been really good so far. I have them tuned to full soft and I may stiffen it up a bit for daily use as I'm used to a more "sports car" stiff with regards to the suspension and having a little less sway is welcomed.
