Very curious to see where the market is on these right now. I’m considering selling this to move into a 60 series. It’s been a great vehicle in the short time I’ve had it. I’ve had it for almost a year. Everything works as it should except the fridge console. It came with several other cool JDM features, including retracting mirrors, overhead altimeter/compass, integrated fog lights, shock adjustment button, adjustable shoulder belts, & headlight sprayers.

The previous owner put a set of bronze 16x7 Nomad Sahara wheels with 285/75R16 Toyo Open Country AT3s on it and I added a fifth to match. It currently has ~147,000 miles.

Things done under my ownership:

Big end bearings (BEBs)
Washable OEM air filter
Oil change w/ oem filter
OEM fuel filter
Stereo w/ carplay
Kicker speakers
Boost, EGT & Coolant temp gauges
Intercooler
Boost controller
Part time 4WD kit
Old Man Emu stock height springs
555 tie rod ends

Happy to answer any questions. Would love to get $22k.

Very nice, any chance for some underbody photos? Others will ask.
You are correct of course. I’ll have to get them after work or this weekend though.

Quick and dirty (literally) after work pics. Forgot I haven’t washed it after a dirt road trip.

Flaky stuff is apparently old undercoating. Zero rust on the frame as far as I’ve seen.

The undercarriage has an old coating on it that is peeling all over. I'm not sure when it was put on but it appears to be from it's previous life in Japan. I have found zero rust anywhere on the truck, frame or body.

Tempting truck! I’ve always wanted a diesel 80! I’d like to discuss the possibilities further if you have some time

Sure. I don’t mind answering questions. I’ve got a couple folks very interested outside of mud though. So this thing might go quick.

Bit high for a 91 so it might sit awhile waiting for the right buyer. I usually sell 1HD 95-97's for high teens, low 20's.

That’s not what I’ve seen on the market. But thanks for chiming in.

Sale pending. I will update here if it falls through this week.

Sold!
@lilevo, I’m not sure what condition the ones you bring in are, but this one was very clean. When I was looking at importing one myself, I couldn’t have gotten one this nice for this price after all of the fees and whatnot regardless of year. And since the early HDJ’s are functionally the same (1HDT, full float rear, etc.) as the 92-94s I was cool with the 91. Also some folks like myself prefer or are ok with the simpler 1HDT.

Its OK. I'm telling you that I bought and sold this one for around the price I have listed. Obviously there are some variations in the market. A lot of it could be based on location and proximity to a port. I highly doubt these have come down in price unless the market has become flooded with them and folks are losing money on the deal. Like I said, the cost of these in the Japanese auction houses I was looking at plus all of the import/export fees put all of them to about this price point for me to import one myself. That's my perspective.
