ok last news !
i've the original frame !!!, the vendor said to me , that the previous owner, replace the frame and engine by frame from 1984 bj42 with 3B :), so i'll have the 2 frames ! :) (nice !!!!)
because he can't sell the car without the original frame :)
...
so 'll be a complete fj40 from 1964 ! :) yeahhhhhaaaa !!!

That is great news!!! :)
What makes this news even better is that now you can properly restore the 1964, and go out and find a tub and rebuild the 1984 for everyday and light trails

Dunkane, pourriez-vous svp prendre des photos des jambes de soutien pour le siège de passager avant ?

Merci

oui pas de pb, je le ferais , y'aura plein de photos après le 4 septembre !
(no problem, i'll do it, there 'll be lot of pictures after the 4 of september !)

question : are the split rims the same than fj40 from 1979 ?

somes pictures ?

i've my VIN :
FJ40-022259

someone can find date of production ?

It does have the short door posts, so it is like mine, a 1964 manufactured in 1963. Mine is less than 1000 older than yours, so I would guess that yours was manufactured around early December 1963. I think that yours is very close to WESINTL's 1964

Hey Dunkane! Glad to see you posting again. Great looking '64. Looks pretty complete!

I have a '64 project as well. The plan (some day) is to use my '82 BJ42 rust monster's drivetrain and motor to swap into the '64. Add OEM soft top, split window windshield, one-piece tailgate, lots of goodies I've collected over years and have kind of a hybrid.

And turbo the 3B. ;)

Should be fun if I ever get to it.

Cheers!

more pictures !

the last 2 pictures of what i've to take saturday :)

you can see two frames ! :) the old fj40 and the 1964 fj40 frame and axles

Johnny, mine is less than 1000 older, and it is a '64 also :)

Dunkane, the answer is no, the '73-'74 F155 engine you have is not exactly the same as the original F135 engine your '64 would have had. The original F135 was not as strong, different oil filter canister, big window carb, oil fill location...etc...too much to list, so check out this link for nice pictures of an F135 in a 1964, https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj25-owners-group/297786-destins-1964-fj40-fst-restore-thread-39.html ...then you should read Destin's whole 1964 restoration thread...it will help you :)
