Dude I'm renting from just bought an 07 FJ, 184 miles, 4wd, for (drum roll) $27,100.

Are these not selling? I saw what seemed like a bunch for sale by owner when they had them less than a year.

Are there any knocks on these beasts that I haven't heard about? Heather seems to like hers.

Comments anyone? Thought they listed for like $38K.

Have to wonder. Heard the 08 was getting the V8.

List is anywhere from 23k to 32k.

Doubt 08 will have a v-8. Would be nice though. Have yet to meet an owner who doesn't like it. Some people find out it's not for them. I'm sure 80's 60's 40's were the same way.

You might want to go back and do some more research. I am far from a FJC authority but I don't know of any locale that listed them for $38K, not even close.

I got mine for under $28k two months after release. No V8 option, No diesel option, No, convertable option. Nothing wrong with them unless you just want to have some fun trolling for a debate...

no V8's in 08 I can tell you that much and probaly not in the near future......... if you search around you shouldn't have a problem finding a nicely equipped one for under 30k.

I spent 30k miles in one for the past 6 months of the FJC Trail Teams......... we wheeled the snot of of them every weekend and then drove them 1500+ miles to the next event; they took a beating and just kept on rolling............ I don't think you can beat them for their on/off-road duality.

there are plenty of owners in the club that would let you get behind the wheel and try one out

Yep, I do like mine. But mine was a bit more expensive because I had to have NOW. I paid for the ability to say I got the first in Atlanta.

But even then, it was $32K. And it's not loaded. And they put a mark up on it (which I actually didn't pay because they gave me an OBSCENE trade in on my POS Nissan). So it really depends.

And yes, I love mine. It's definatley not for some people, and they find that out fast. But for me, seems to fit the bill great.

Mine was loaded with all option and upgrade packages PLUS roof rack, hitch, side airbags and six-speed (manual shift is more money, I'll explain why if you're interested.
I believe it listed at $32K or $33K. I paid thousands less because it was an early dealer demo and I drive a hard bargain. But I don't see how you could get one much above 32. The TRD otoh is about ten grand extra. A regular FJC plus ten grand worth of aftermarket upgrades would give you all the trail truck you could want, much more than the TRD pkg. I guess some people just gotta have a black roof, which to me is a drawback not a benefit.

Every auto (or bike, or airplane, boat, woman, dog, whatever) is a compromise. I love my FJ, she has far exceeded my already high expectations. Great SUV, killer trail hoss with the usual upgrades (lift, tires, etc.). The looks are either love it or hate it but I get a lot of glances, smiles and comments.
I heard it was the best selling new vehicle on the market in 07 so somebody likes it. I'm thinking the ones that are moving are either people that wanted a minivan or wanted a trailer queen rock crawler. It's neither of those but pretty close to both in one pkg.
I can't think of anything I'd trade it for of equivalent value.
Bring your 60 sometime and we'll go wherever you want and you can see what she'll do.

I think that says it all...
