Anyone dropped their engine oil pan (lower one)? Rumors are about dropping diff for access but super unclear online and was for the LS460 on clublexus. FSM says nothing as it assumes you’ve pulled the engine.

Doing a big job already and really want to get a good look in there.

I’ve dropped and replaced my lower oil pan due to a leak. No issues at all.

Great - was a little concerned with an oil strainer sticking down into the pan and then not being able to maneuver it around and down.

Thanks for the input!

I am about to take of the lower oil pan to replace the gasket. You get it off okay by lower the diff slightly?

You use anything special or just an extension and a swivel head for the socket?
I had an assortment of different length extensions as well as wobbles and swivels. I don’t remember exactly what I’ve used as it has been 6 months or so since I’ve done it.
