i pulled it off the forsale list quite a while back when i was thinking of keeping it and forgot to stick it back up.
RHD, some like it, some don't... try and find a LHD in this condition... or if it REALLY bothers you then convert it to LHD. i wouldn't but then i like things that stand out of the crowd.

A V engine will almost never last as long as an inline engine... Typically they suffer from connecting rod/crank failure, long before an inline engine will. Which is caused from stresses by the V design. V type engines were produced to be compact to fit into engine bays!

I have never seen a V engine go into any transport truck, that being said there isn't even an option to get one... and the majority of transports are custom built trucks to the owners needs/wants...

As of now I own three 4 cylinders, one 3B BJ70, one 1.6DOHC A4FE Corolla and one 1.8 dohc Integra all of them are 20 years old plus, and two of them are over 200 000kms one over 300 000km's and they are all on factory engines/transmissions, tell that to someone with a newer Chrysler, VW or Lincon LS!

And people wonder why I only buy imports, hmmmmm...

Eric, nearly all the road trains in oz run V8 diesels. I learnt to drive in a 1971 Kenworth with a 200hp baby V8,so called because it was the smallest V8 that Cummins ever made.

This one is definately a V8,probably in the 600-700hp range;)
I overtook this fella in the HZJ75 on the Goldfields Highway. What fun that was at 130kph flat to floor with him doing 110:D

The V8s in the big rigs do 1-2 million klms between rebuilds
perth to alice springs 004 (Medium).jpg

that's damn good!!!

We didn't install any cummin's engines where I used to work, CAT, BENZ, Detroit diesel all of which were inline... Although I remember stuff going to OZ usually got the cream of the crop as far as parts and accesories go.... They must have overbuilt the cranks and rods in those rigs enough to handle the V forces!

I can't get over the road train, damn

AFAIK all those brands and more come in V8 here, even Scania and other Euro makes are getting in on the act.
This is interesting,170 tonnes uphill with 50 pounds boost and 400 celsius on the pyro @ 1400 rpm @ 14kph

I got the same question. How much does a new 70 series cost and how could you get it here to the US.

About $40000USD for a basic model, rising to $60000 for a fully optioned troopy RV with V8 diesel

how could you get it here to the US.

If its non EPA compliant,it cannot be imported into the US

If you do,they crush it .

It may be possible to import one when the early models turn 25 yo in 2010

Yeah, they must have discontinued the RV trim level. I dont think the Prado has it any more either.

the rv trim level in the late turbo6 aus spec 78/9's looks the same as v8 gxl troopys utes etc i think its just a badge change

You think toyota would have made rear flares for the gxl troopys so they get the wider alloys like the gxl 76 an 79's

Were do you get the 60 series picture idea from crushers

LOL!!
the new 70s look like 60 series front ends...they have lost the rugged good looks of the true 70 series

that is all

you dont think they look more close to a 100 series front

“Newer, not softer” is what Toyota says about the new 70 Series Landcruiser. Look at it from most angles and it doesn’t look all that different to the 70 Series ‘cruiser your uncle owned 10 years ago. Apparently owners of the previous 70 Series iterations don’t want to see change and think their trusty stump puller looks good enough, and does the job.
;)
Im still a fan of the "Stump puller" looks over the vdj look too especially a last of hdj79 rv merlot red:cool:

are you trying to say that the 100 is a better look than the 60? not in my books, the more "American" Toyota makes their vehicles look the uglier they look.

you dont think they look more close to a 100 series front

No i never said the 100 is a better look i said do you not think they look more like the 100 front
depends what look your going for crushers
My fav looking cruiser is 45 ute
but each to thier own
