Wanted to get some opinions on this, haven't experienced this until now.

Noticed a weird sound, initially thought it was something in the cabin. I'm thinking it has something to do with this leak on the front the drivers side drive shaft. Smells like differential fluid and the CV boot looks good. Thoughts?

Looks like your oil seal is leaking on your differential. I would check the oil level and top up ASAP. order a replacement seal and fit it. They are fairly easy to install, just take note the depth the old seal sits in its housing as if it is in too far it will leak.

Definitely that stinky ass differential fluid. Wish a Yota dealership was open today so I could knock this out now...

We stock the seals and I think the tube bearings.

Great. Probably worth replacing the bearing while I'm there.

What about the bushing? There is a bushing in the front support I'm trying to see if I can purchase, believe the full part is 5238060030, but I would rather just get the bushing if possible.

There are aftermarket poly bushings available, give us a shout at the shop and I can check availability and pricing.

I've determined that the bushing isn't bad by using a pry bar to see if there is any excessive movement. Thinking it's just the seal at this point that needs to be replaced.

I generally recommend cleaning & degreasing first, then watch to pin point leak as it reappears. But in your video it looks pretty clear it's your driver side differential tube seal: Here just one of many threads on that will help you replace. CV Swap / Wheel Bearings / AHC Lift / Other Needed Items??? It pretty easy job with minimal tools needed.

Some reasons this seal leaks: Over filling front differential, seal knocked out of alignment during front drive shaft installation, aftermarket front drive shaft of poor design, seal installed improperly or excessive vibration in drive shaft over long term.

As far as sound from in cabin; it did not sound like external noise. It did have a bit of electrical feed back sound or creak. It may be steering column, this is the most common. I see steering wheel movement and sound, although not perfectly synchronized. Search clock spring here in the 100 section. For my similar creaking sound, I sprayed between column and steering wheel with LPS plastic safe lube & cleaner, seem to have stop for me. Others have pulled steering wheel to service.

Hope this helps

I had the same issues a few months back... replaced the seal, and all is well. While your axle is out, check the condition of the splines.

Got around to replacing the seal yesterday, but still have the noise. A few weeks prior to getting the noise I installed some sliders, originally I thought the sliders were the culprit, but after looking around I found the leak and hoped that would solve the noise issue. So much for hope...

Gonna see if I can readjust the sliders. Anyone else have an ideas?

The high pitched one just sounds like brakes. I commented to some friends that both own 100s that I had random brake squeaks and they both said their's did it as well, always had.

The brake sound isn't what I'm referring to, its the other sound.

try lowering the sliders are the metal tech or opor ones?

cruisin off road sliders. I have them flush to the bottom side of the frame.

Sound seems tied to LCA bushings, which I see oil on that area. Presumably form the leak you just fixed, good job BTW. In that respect the creak could be related to the leak you just fixed. Try cleaning LCA bushing area really good with degreaser and high pressure water. Then see if sound changes.

I don't know how much if any lateral movement (play) in LCA bushing is acceptable. Anyone??
