so the JCwhitney part is NLA, my money is in limbo refund land......has anyone compared the 60 series outer felts? I called $or and the guy told me there was no way it would even be close. I'm havin a hard time buyin that looking at the 62 and 55 together...I can see the upward facing clips that hold the felt assy up to the downward pointing rolled inner lip of the outer door skin, but I still don't see the non chrome felts being all that far off of fitting the pig. I'm about to pull the trigger on a set just to see, but if any of you have had a 60 series felt apart and in your hands, please pipe up. Thanks

I did it...I ordered up 2 #130-33A's from specter. If the clips wont work, I'll sika flex em. Tape measure says I'll have to trim the strips about 1 1/2 inches to fit the later style doors. The rubber strip is the same right and left, but the right hand strip is about 10 bucks more than the left. I figure if I rotated the felt 180*, I'd have a right hand felt:hillbilly: so I bought two lefties for 24 and change plus tax each before the club discount. will advise....

Need to do this badly, sub'ing;. Post up finish pics please

The JC Whitney part # I posted?

warshawskys/whitney's is notorious for changing part numbers/venders everytime a new catalog is published. been doing it over 20 years.

they got here on Halloween, but I was running LATE so had to leave them be. yesterday, I trimmed the first one before the rain started. Today, I am bushed. BUT, they will work- only have to glue in or drill some holes and pop rivit them in place. They are not drop in, but what on a pig is? I need to do some more minor body on the drivers side before I set that one in, but I will be doing that and setting the passenger side this weekend. I think they will look SHARP.

I will post the process on this thread...tools required are razor knife and some dykes.

left drivers 60 series felt(cheapest listing for this part @ SOR...pn posted above) cross sections...

there is an option at this point to just trim the length square to fit the opening between the upright window frame rails(the EZ fit) and glue in or drill some new holes and pop rivet or even transpose the factory clips-I said this was NOT drop-in. sika flex or any other poly type sealer with a thin bead on the top outer window ledge and inner outer upright and some weight would provide enough adhesion to hold them in place with some setting time. the re-drill and rivet method is going to require drilling some holes in the inner doorskin and using the long reach rivet gun- or just thru drill and drill the felt to match and reuse stock clips and then weld/grind the holes drilled in the inner doorskin...clear as mud? I'll give a better idea later on my install....

My install is going to leave the outer rubber ledges in their full length and glue them down w/sika or other poly; and to under cut the felt part in order to provide a tighter(hopefully) fit.....
there is a metal rib in the vertical section of the felt which needs to be removed for the type of installation I am fixin to fix(the long outside version) one will need to take a razor to the rubber and skin the desired rubber from the metal rib, and then cut the rib back..

I made marks where the inner edges of the span between the uprights of the window frame on the metal ribbed section of the felt, with the front edge longer than the rear...your model may vary...so..fold back the felt and outer rubber flap, and cut off the rib to desired length...
