That piece is not available from toyota, except as part of a complete lock assembly.
Post in the parting out section.
I've got parts for an awesome fix for that. And it makes the latch a little more secure. I was going to post it eventually, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. It's written down and it's somewhere in the garage...with my v8 conversion.
But the idea is this..
You'll have to go to your parts store and take that little part with you. Take off the broken plastic piece because you won't need it.
I found a pic showing the parts that fit onto the end there. Check it out...
Or else, if you want, you can send me a couple bucks for the parts. I've got some spares around here and I can ship them to you...(I'm not trying to gouge you, I'm just a poor college student.) Really poor.
Don't forget that when you put the x-clip on the end, you need to squeeze it with the pliers so it doesn't fall off. This fix should last you another 20 years. Good luck!
Hey that's a fantastic mod! My door handles feel like the linkage is loosening and this looks like it'd be the ticket for a permanent fix. Do you remember the dimensions of the bushing and washers, or better yet, part numbers for anything?
So here are the parts that I used. This is what was described on the receipt from Marshall's Hardware, where I got the parts from. I'll also list the Marshall's part number in case you have one locally.
501024 x washer retaining clip 1/8"
376041 #10 x 9/64" x 1/16" Nylon Flange
143007 5mm washer
Good luck!!
You know when that happened to me, I zip tied it back together as a temporary fix. It wasn't until some years later that I remembered it was zip- tied!!! You might be happy with this too. - Winslow
