ok so this is my first time in the HC section posting a thread but I need some advice.

For a while Ive kept a spare mini truck cab for a future project. idea was mount it onto a wrecked fzj 80 and build a buggie outa it. so im at the local junk yard and in the pen i see what looks to be a brand new lexus 470. I go and ask about it and sure enough the f-ing thing fell off a car carrier truck with 0 miles on it and now its being parted out. engine and transmission are alredy sold but the frame seams like a good platform to start from.

only real problem is if I purchase it I will have problems storing it for a while till I can get to this project. So do you guys think its worth my hassle to purchase this frame or should I wait and hope its still there late summer?

aint that a IFS front end?
the best parts is the motor and tranny..

Pass..

Can you say part out sectin on Mud? Brand new rig must be worth something I say snatch iit up and do a straight axle conmversion with the mini cab.

yes it is an ifs but the thing aint gonna come with any axles anyway so the idea would be to cut all the front end suspention stuff and throw some beefy axles under it any way.

IMHO i wouldn't do it, if it was an 80 and it had the axles then i'd say go for it but in the end its not worth the money and time spent... you could find a wrecked 80 with the axles for cheap and considering your having storage issues then i'd say the better option would just be to hold off for now..

Pass.

Too much work for just a frame. An 80 frame would be a better choice.

If it was still complete with drivetrain.... well, then it might be a candidate for a cool buggy project. Still a lot of work though...

Phil
