Well, finally got around to doing the birf job today since the truck needs brakes anyway. As I am putting the passenger side back together I find out the neither of my axle nuts that go on the spindle will thread more than 1/3 of the way to the front bearing, a not so good situation. Looking at the nuts, one of them appears to have the threads intact, the other is a mess
So the question is do you think I have screwed the spindle up? Is there any way to clean the threads off? Should I just keep going with the good nut once I get to the part where it gets really tough to turn? Any idea what a couple of nuts will cost me? Any idea what a spindle will cost if I cant clean the threads
