It was a rough Friday... :( such an incredible animal. Very sad week in our family.

Very sorry to hear that. Want to hear a weird story? So almost a year ago, I said goodbye to Ellie, the first dog I had as an adult on my own. She was with me for nearly 10 years and finally her back legs gave up as they do in a lot of large breed dogs and she just had the look and I knew it was time. The spark was gone in her eyes.
Fast forward to last month, we were on vacation in Monument Valley. On our way home, we stopped at McDonald’s and see a tiny, skinny German Shepherd mix puppy in the parking lot begging for food. We give him some food and he comes up slowly to us after a few minutes, and I kid you not, he has Ellie’s eyes. Not like “oh, they’re similar”, but identical to my old gals eyes. Same color, same size, same sweet beautiful look. I actually teared up looking at them. So, what to we do? Toss him in the truck and bring him home with us. I’m not a religious man by any means, but I can’t help believe there was some higher power involved in finding this dog at the exact moment he was there. I think in some weird way, Ellie lives on in him. Point being, Coop, and every other dog that has or had a piece of our hearts live on, and maybe one day you’ll find him again.

Well picked up the new dog Saturday evening. Guess we closed the loop of sorrow after losing daisy the 20 month old lab.
I picked up new puppy then picked up my wife at Tulsa airport. She is an amazing puppy so far. I had to leave and drive back to Tulsa but the wife definitely enjoying her.

Well, after “Special Agent Cooper’s” passing last month, we needed another German back in the house.

After some good research from @CatskillsRunner we picked up our new puppy today.

“Deputy Andy” is his name (extra points if you get the running references) 1 month and 21 days.

Back to having a dog in the house. All is good with the world again. :)
