Spring placement I have found depends on how the vehicle is loaded I end up with tall spring on driver side in rear most of the time. The adjusters some are harder than others but should be many more clicks than 5 on compression adjustment the rebound is super easy but hard to feel the clicks but should be easy to turn@Ozark cruiser, I know it's been a long time since you did this. Do you remember if there was a left/right order to the rear coil springs?
Also, how hard is it to turn the adjuster knobs of the front struts with fingers and how many turns can you turn them? mine is very very tight and almost impossible to turn without pliers, and I can't turn them more than 5 clicks or so.
