Going to be ordering my 45mm lift from dobinson springs next week and I'm looking for info and advice. I'm also gonna order up castor correction bushings...

Does anyone know shock lenghts for the front and rears for a 45mm lift?

I'm thinking of doing an adjustable ranchos up front, and an adjustable air shock in the back that runs off an air compressor and electronic valves to assist in the occasional heavy loads.

Kinda like this for the rear shock.

Just thought I'd ask before guessing the size.

Anything else to keep in mind other than lengthing the e-hubs and brake lines?

Sway bars?

Thnx in advance.

I could measure my OME shocks and let you know. They could easily accommodate that lift.

You also have to extend the brake proportioning valve rod mount at the rear axle. Replace and lengthen your diff breathers at the same time.

Also, I think these trucks should have adjustable panhard rods when lifted much. Been meaning to try it with mine. The 80 series kits often do this.

I've seen lengthened custom swap bar end links for the Prado also. Something you could probably fabricate yourself to keep the sway geometry right. Again, something I have not done, but probably should.

Good luck.

What OME part numbers did you end up going with? Ill try to look up specs on them.

Thanks!

Here are all the OME numbers for the lift I bought through RADD Cruisers:

- Front Spring to 50kgs (30mm lift) - 2 x OME872
- Front Nitrocharger shock - 2 x N77
- Rear Spring Medium Load (40mm lift) - 2 x OME873
- Rear Nitrocharger shock - 2 x N79
- Steering Damper - OMESD24

Its showing N181 for Nitrocharger shocks fronts and N197 for rears... for the 78 series lift. Hmmm. N77 and n79 don't show up as a part number for OME.

It's under Landcruiser II. Thats what our rigs are called in the countries other than Japan. 78 series is the heavy duty troop carrier I think. Look on page 87 of this OME catalog: http://4x4.com.ua/files/OME INT 28.2 MAY 2013.pdf

And a quick search on mud yielded the lengths of said shocks (KZJ70 Shock lengths)

Measured from eye to eye.
OME N77 front shock 570mm ext, 340mm collapsed.
OME N79 Rear Shock 507mm ext, 325mm collapsed.

Lots of good info in that thread on shock length and different shocks. Check it out.

I just installed the Dob's 45mm springs. Stayed with the shocks I had and didn't change anything else. Drive's great. Also installed the Dob steering stabilizer. I would just go with the matching dob shocks and keep it complete.

my profile pic is not with the new shocks - added 45mm just like the sign said.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you buy them from? I'd like to buy a pair for the front of my truck to soften it up a bit.
