Do you get feedback on the steering wheel?

Over typical paved/bumpy roads, do you get any feedback in your steering wheel? Do you feel the bumps in the road with small rotations in the wheel? They're not large enough to change the truck's direction, but enough that you feel it in your hands.

Looking for feedback on what others experience when driving their 120 series.
 
I get quite a bit of feedback, especially after the lift. Feedback through the steering wheel would make you think you were about to go flying off the road after a good bump, but the vehicle continues to track straight. I assume this is because I'm near the limits for caster due to having a lift without aftermarket upper control arms.
 
Not sure it's caster. I'm at 3.5 on both sides with aftermarket UCAs. Total lift is barely over 2".
 
I get a LOT, but I have aftermarket tie rods, UCAs, LCAs, etc. Heim joints in my tie rods pass a lot on through.
 
It's called Bump Steer. Essentially as the wheel and suspension moves up and down there is a small change in the tie rod arc vs the arc of the rest of the suspension. So you feel this as the entire assembly moves up and down. It's minor so it doesn't change the course of the truck. Google gives lots of articles. But lifting the truck could change the bumpsteer of the vehicle. Rod Feedback is a good thing. Back in the day Porsche used to brag that you could feel the effect of running over a quarter on the road. Americans tend to dislike road feel. Europeans tend to appreciate it more. As time has gone forward most cars are fairly isolated in road feel but some design in a great deal more then others. I would never notice running over a Quarter placed in the road.

Got it, I'm glad to hear it's normal. I have stock everything except 6112s and Camburg UCAs.


I'm curious if the bushings of the UCA alone are enough to contribute that much to road feel.

I'm hesitant to call it bump steer because the car doesn't change directions. Just road feedback with a rotational twitch in the wheel.
 
Fair enough, I wonder if the SPC arm's bushings are as stiff. Can anyone comment?
