I am putting up a poll to see how many 200 Series owners here have an LC vs. an LX. This only applies to 200 Series owners and what you currently own/drive.

Both. Me- ‘10 LC, wife- ‘15 LX

In the winter being in the greater northeast I drive a 2022 4runner TRD Pro is easer to clean and hate to say it but the 4 runner is half the cost and less valuable than my 2020 LC200 .
You pay all the the money for the these machines and to have them destroyed with salt and brime just bothers the crap out of me so I’m driving the new TRD pro and that bothers me a little less , it’s easier to clean the 4runner .

So far the LC is well ahead of the LX, not the results I was expecting but I am also somewhat pleased to see.

I think most LX owners buy them because they’re the biggest baddest machine lexus makes and have no clue about its capabilities, they just want the status. I think most LC buyers know exactly what they’re buying and are much more likely to be on this forum. I got my LX to get all the capabilities of the LC at a much lower price than a comparative LC.

I had planned on buying an LX until the wife drove one (wanted AHC to help getting big dogs in and out of it). She hated it and hated the infotainment system. So I pivoted to an LC. She loves the LC. Getting the dogs in sucks, but I deal with it.

Is the infotainment system any different between the LC and LX?

Love my remote touch, ****ing hate touch screens.

I agree.. I’m surprised it’s that far off now that we are over 100 votes.

I definitely agree with the idea that a lot of LXs get purchased because it’s the most expensive Lexus… but at this point there are twice as many 2008-2015 LXs on the road (as LCs) that most of those buyers have let go of now. I would assume that the 2nd and 3rd wave owners would have a higher percentage of “know what you are buying” But maybe there are just as many 2nd/3rd wave buyers who are still just buying the nicest old Lexus they can afford. I suspect in that group of people.. “the nicest Toyota you can afford” does n’t really play…

Gotta love trying to put people in boxes. And I'm sure there's some truth to all of that. No shade intended, I'm sure just like the comments above, but how about just wanting the uber 200-series? There's likely a significant group of potential 300-series buyers, especially new car buyers, in that box, as Toyota actually made a conscious business decision to lean that way.

There's a pretty active LX specific forum on clublexus.com. Maybe where the more casual owners probably keep to. Of course there's some cross-over but the the topics here are probably more hardcore versus mallcore?

Speaking of which, it would be interesting to profile our interests here too. We often talk past each other as there's different build goals. Maybe something like "What are you building your car for: rockcrawling, overlanding, weekender, commuter, maller?"

I was set on buying an LX but ended up buying the LC due to KDSS and springs/shocks give better feedback from road. I have rethought the decision over the years as I would have saved alot more going with LX. I don't think I could have driven 200k miles on the LX feeling that disconnected from the road. I do want to buy an LX and put 35" tires on it.

The purpose of this poll is simply to see if the number of LX units built vs. the number of LC units built within the 200 Series range mirrors membership and activity here in this forum. Nothing more, nothing less.

For sure.. my biased stigmatized view of Club Lexus is it’s all superficial modifications. Lots of thread about how to make your 2009 look like a 2013… or what giant sub box should I put in the rear… I’m sure that is at most 1/3rd true…

Good luck with that.. this is the internet, after all…
