whats up with the really low hangin exhaust pipe there? If your just gonna dump it why didnt u just angle it out that way you could have it higher up.

the aluminum diamond plate is over top of basically a steel box welded together out of angle and bolted to the frame rails. the checker plate is held on with the bolts that attach the D rings to the steel in behind it.

REKUT, that is funny, i been looking at work to grab some steel scrap so i can build some sliders and id like to do a rear bumper with some quarter panel protection to avoid tree damage. i think i got to build a new winch bumper for the 80 first though.

The fender wells just have the metal thats rotted deleted,(with sawall) theyre actually pretty ugly, but i am hoping to weld in some replacement metal in a couple weeks. i have a set of fender trim that im debating using on it.

Crash_AB, well have to meet up sometime, im not really planning on beating up the cruiser too much on the trails like some of the guys at mclean or wypress, but id like to get out and explore more.
Maybe ill swing by sometime, i been looking for errands to run the last few days so i can take it for a cruise. "are you sure we arent out of milk honey?"

pics of rot wells, i mean wheel well.

How do you find the gearing with the 4.88s, the 39s look great , now i can't wait to get my body back on to see what mine will look like.

it came with 3.70:1 gears and 29 or 30 inch tires stock. i then went to 33's then 35's, then 4.88's and now the 39.5's. with the gears and tires it feels comparable to 3.70's and 31-33" tires. I didnt want it too low geared as there are alot of trails 1-3 hours from here so i could fairly easily drive there, also this part of the country has more mud holes and trails and less rock areas than alot of other places so im not really after super low granny gears for rock crawling. If my intentions were more of a trail only vehicle i would probally go with 5.29's.

dude... super sick!!! that truck has come a long ways!!!!

let me know if you find some easy trails around calgary that dont beat up your rig.... id love to find some fun stuff to drive and camp or something

the mirrors are actually cheapo replacement ones from princess auto, i broke one of the stock mirrors and didnt have the extra funds for the 62 mirrors, which i should put on it as the field of view is too narrow on a lifted cruiser with these ones.

Been playing in a mud hole in front of the house with it lately, there is a 200' long, maybe 2.5' deep at the worst puddle with clayish mud at the bottom, but it hasnt been soft enough to need 4wd. The new tires definately get the cruiser dirty in a hurry now, its like $20 at the carwash everytime i take it in there. I still have a handfull of bugs to work out before i take it on the trails, but i been taking it out for errands lately. Up to 150 km's on the tires now.

bump for a really old thread. Exactly what size are these tires? They seem to fit very well in the stock fender wells.

Nice rubber!!
