Oil filter housing gasket? My gasket kit came with one, and it was a pretty thick one. I'd atleast buy some gasket material and make one. Gasket glue is great stuff but I'm always afraid if I put it on too thick some will squeeze off inside and plug something. Since this is on the main oil artery I wouldn't take a chance.

Yeah they are cheap... but they take forever to get... the local Toyota shop here in Jersey says it will take a week or more. I tried making my own gasket using rubberized cork for this... but it is too soft and becomes a mess when you torque it down. Ugh more waiting.

I bought a roll of gasket felt from Autozone for a few bucks and use it fairly regularly for miscellaneous stuff - including using it for the oil filter bracket.

Gasket felt = $5
Time to make the gasket = 15mins
Leak-free landcruiser = priceless
