Hi, when I bought my cruiser it had a weber carb on it and I wanted to go back to factory. So I went and bought an carb for that year model from sor. I dont know if I need a carb insulator or what gaskets I need. The carb I bought has already been rebouilt and all what else do I need? Where would the carb insulator go? Thanks, im new to carbs so bear with me...

the carb spacer goes between the intake manifold and the carburator.

What air cleaner are you going to use? if a stock setup, you may need the insulator to get proper alignment between the carb and housing. Also the PCV goes into it on your year, I think. 72??

You'll need the spacer and probably linkage as well. The weber probably had a cable on it?

IF you set the carb over the manifold, you will notice that the bellcrank hits the manifold. It will not rotate unless it is spaced off of the manifold. That is a secondary function of the insulator.

You need 4 carb studs and accomanying nuts. DO NOT USE BOLTS.

You need an accelerator cable, cable tensioning nuts, and the tensioner bracket.

And an insulator.

Good move ditching the weber. Aisin is the way to go the vast majority of the time.

You could scrounge up the parts you need individually, or just call Mark A and tell him the situation and he will send the right stuff and provide top notch support.

Also, if you do not know anything about that carb, you will either want to rebuild it, or have it rebuilt for best performance. I had mine rebuilt by Jim Chenowith, been working great for the last 5 years just as it came out of the box. Mark A. also does top notch carb rebuilds. Can't go wrong between the two.

Welcome to the sickness, good lucK!
