I'm working on my own DIY bumper at the moment (not to sell or anything of the sort) and have found my price to be around $375, maybe a little less. This is with a single, possibly dual swing outs. I'm copying to the best of my ability a known vendors high clearance bumper.
Some things to keep in mind though: I get good prices on steel, have access to a well equipped shop, and have found a place to buy spindles (rated @ 3450lbs) at half of what most recommended vendors charge.
My opinion would be to find some ideas on 'mud, and if you're capable, make something yourself. You'll learn from the experience and have something that you yourself created.
One last thing. I thought of doing the labs bumper, but I don't really like the looks, and a lot of people have complained of missing pieces. Luke makes things right, but if I've gotta deal with headaches, I'd rather do it because of my own errors.
