Wow. I love the prototype without the swingouts.

I was getting ready to pull the trigger on a front bumper DIY kit, will the rear be available as a DIY kit as well?

If so, I might just wait and order everything at one time.

And sir, you have a great eye for this. The lines on your designs are on another level.

I most likely will be getting rid or the DIY kits front and rear for quality control purpose. There isn't near as much welding or finish work on the rear so the savings would be minimal.
The front DIY kits will only be available for the next week than I will faze them out.
Thanks.

Ben,

I still need to order a front complete. Can I pick it up with the rear?

Thanks!

So with almost 30 on the waiting list for the rear bumper I'm going to have to get some more info from you guys and get more organized before production starts.
I will need you guys to email me your contact info and the number as you see your name on the list
I will need a rough build list of what your looking for swing out wise and please include if your looking to purchase a front or roof rack at the same time,
Also your real name and forum name.
I will be calling everyone once I'm ready to take orders.

Please put, rear bumper in the subject line.
Thanks.

email sent. I can't tell how far down the list I am.

So Ben, I agree with the other posts that you eye for keeping the lines right on the rear bumper is gifted! I'm an admirer. I'm the one that was trying to keep the spare under the truck and not cut the cross member, however, the way you have described it, the tire will no longer fit under with the additional cross bracing which looks outstanding by the way, so I hear you saying that I've got to GO ALL IN to do this bumper with swing outs in order not to have to carry my spare inside?

When i spoke to Ben about this he said that yes it would fit but he was concerned about its exposure to trail rocks, and general appearance of it with the bumper so high compared to stock. I am planning to do the mods to suck it up an extra inch or two (don't have thread link handy) and see how i feel about it. I like that i can add the swingout later with this design;)

On my 80 Series, I ran a narrower (same height) spare underneath. Haven't looked into a same-height/skinnier tire for the 100...but if available it'd help...and a matching spare is only necessary for the 5-tire rotation crowd and/or as a display piece for the rear (which is okay, it's what I have on my 40).

At some point I will try and mount a 33" tire under there and get some pics. It really looks bad IMHO. I don't think anyone will be ok with the look and should not count on running the spare underneath. If one were to have a narrow tire for the spare they may be able to pull it off but it still looks out of place.
All that being said once you guys see the final tire swing out design I really don't think you will mind having it on there.

Thanks for all the emails!
I know you guys have a lot of questions and I will answer those when I call before the final order is placed. I plan on calling each one of you to go over what options you want and to answer any questions.
Thanks.
Ben

I'm sad you won't be offering the DIY kits anymore. I'm thinking about ditching my BIOR and going with yours after you ramp up production.

Any plans to support a 37" tire hanging off the rear? :hillbilly:

I will still do the DIY kits to previous DIY customers that bought the fronts.
The tire carrier should have no problem supporting a 37" tire.
After watching your build I may be going that route in the future:)

I've never been so excited to spend a few grand! What do you estimate your build time to be Ben? I'm not trying to rush you, but I'm just curious of a window I can expect mine (#20 in line). As far as I know now, it could be next month or next year haha.

Haha, thanks.
I'm hopping to have all these all shipped by beginning of July,
This will all depend on how long it takes me to finalize the swing outs. The main bumper should be finalized in the next week or two.

Sorry for the lack of updates.
I had to take a little break from the rears and work on some front orders.
I'm hopping to have a final bumper next week and sign of on the final design, then I will start production of the main bumper.
I still have some prototyping of the swing outs but should have the tire carrier dialed in soon.
Thanks!
Ben.
