So with almost 30 on the waiting list for the rear bumper I'm going to have to get some more info from you guys and get more organized before production starts.
I will need you guys to email me your contact info and the number as you see your name on the list
I will need a rough build list of what your looking for swing out wise and please include if your looking to purchase a front or roof rack at the same time,
Also your real name and forum name.
I will be calling everyone once I'm ready to take orders.

Please put, rear bumper in the subject line.
Thanks.
Bump.

On my 80 Series, I ran a narrower (same height) spare underneath. Haven't looked into a same-height/skinnier tire for the 100...but if available it'd help...and a matching spare is only necessary for the 5-tire rotation crowd and/or as a display piece for the rear (which is okay, it's what I have on my 40).

I have a super narrow spare from a HZJ? pickup, split rim 7.00 x 16 IIRC that tucks up very nice.

Having a spare underneath is very appealing to me, I hate swing outs.

I know it might be a pain in the butt, but could you maybe put a * next to the names of people that emailed on the list? I sent an email when you asked, but then I would know for sure you got it.
Yeah, I will try and get to that next week. Fwiw I did receive yours.
Thanks.

^^^^i believe the move from the stock 16" to the stock 18" wheels on 100 Series was purely aesthetic. I have never heard that later 100s have larger brakes, or it would be a popular upgrade for those of us with earlier 100s.

My 99 came with 16s from the factory.

I've asked about putting 16s on my 06 to get a larger selection of tires for less $$ and was told (never went digging to be sure) the later ones (maybe only 06-07s) do have larger brakes and the 16s would not fit or be too crowded therefore more likely for overheating!

Not sure about everyone else...but I've been itching to see more pictures of this beauty every time I log in. @benc - could you feed the crave.

Is there a cost for the bumper and swing outs? Or did I miss it?

The cost has not been released yet and I will not know untill I have a final production cost.
However, I can say my target price is around $1200-1400 for the bumper and around $500-600 each swing arm, a full rear with dual swing outs will be around $2200-2600.
It's looking like it will be closer to the high end but will do my best to be competive.

Maybe the @benc design will change your mind? Heavy duty, one hand, car-door-style latch with gas strut for easy opening has me sold. That and the perfect lines

Benc design and swing out is very nice without question and will work great for most. Once you live or travel long term out of your Land Cruiser you will learn where my hate comes from.

I do understand swing outs are not for everyone but for me the long travels with the family the swingouts are a must. For me the advantages of the swing outs have alway out weighed the disadvantage of the extra 2 seconds it takes to get into the back.
Plus if the tires underneath, where are you going to hang the trasharoo ;)

i've often wondered this too. serious question, what's the alternative?

Should have a full bumper tomorrow and once I put it together and confirm everything is right I'll get a head start on production of the bumpers while I finalize the swingouts.
Should have some pics by the end of the week.

Getting close!
It definitely is tricky getting all this stuff to work but I'm close.
Here are some pics of the tire carrier, this is still in prototype stage so som things are crudely welded on.
