Great angles on the side from the wheel arch. I like it.

First all, great job! I can tell a lot of thought went into this sucker.

In regards to the hitch, it looks a bit crowded at the moment, especially with the connector placement. I'd imagine a lot of use use locking hitch pins which are a bit longer than the tiny pin your using, and would cause interference.

As for the safety chain, any reason why you don't just run a plate under the hitch receiver with holes to either side like most OEM setups?

Why can't the towing safety chain just get hooked to the recovery points? Strong enough for a pull, strong enough for a trailer chain!

I like where this is going and have my tax return burning a hole in my pocket.

Thanks.
There shouldn't be a problem fitting most style pin locks.

You may see busy but I see, easy access, convenient and protected, these are the reasons for the plug location.
Again, I'm not 100% sure the route I will go on the safety chains yet.
Thanks for the input!

It could definitely be done but most chains would not reach. Sure you could extend the chains but could be a pain if you ever barrow or rent a trailer with standard chains.

Right. This will make it more adjustable and an easy 1 man installation.

is there a way this connection could be more similar to the front bumper so that there isnt a plate/bolt connection flat on the face of the bumper? maybe each piece has a flange that turns out to create the tow hook spot and that is where it bolts together? just spit balling ideas here...

What benc said, but it's also important the the safety chain positions are right near the hitch. That way you can create a 'cradle' with the chains under the hitch in case it comes off the ball/hitch.

to open them every time you need to open the tailgate/hatch. On a trip, it's not a big deal, but I have no desire to do this on a daily basis. Been there done that. I am constantly using hatch.
couldn't that be easily solved with a wiring harness quick disconnect?

Not really, the biggest reasons for doing the caps this way is it gives the ability to adjust the wing in or out which is crucial on a rear bumper IMO, rear end collisions are pretty common and even if there is no major damage a minor tweak on the frame can make it very difficult to get an aftermarket bumper to align properly. This set up will allow a custom fit while not compromising strength. It will also allow for the owner to put the wing tighter to the body or further out depending on preference.

Thanks,
I have not nailed down a final price yet but unfortunately if I did find a way to ship it would likely cost more than the bumper.

That looks sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The way you incorporated the electrical connector looks really good! Great job!

. . . and that alone justifies the purchase of this bumper IMO. Nice job.

Ben, quit messing with the rear bumpers and get cranking on the fronts! Waiting sucks.

Haha, yeah it probably sucks seeing the rear bumper thread when your waiting for the front. I guess you just need to order a rear so you can be excited about this tread too[emoji6]

Unfortunately your front is still about 8 weeks out.

Just kidding, yours in on the build list this weekend and will ship out next week sometime. I think that's even a few weeks ahead of schedule.

AWESOME! that's way ahead of schedule. I was totally kidding BTW. I figured it would be closer to another 8 weeks, but that's great news. thanks, you made my weekend.

now if i can just find someone staring down at their cell phone and catch them with a brake-check and get the insurance company to foot the bill for a new bumper....:steer:

I know you're just kidding but yesterday some douchenozzle brake-checked my nephew after cutting him off in the fast lane. He put his beloved Jeep into the median wall. I picked him up at the hospital yesterday. Poor kid doesn't have two pennies to rub together and now he's out his only transportation.

that sucks. yes, i was completely joking.
sorry to hear about your nephew.
