Am I seeing correctly that the wing sticks out approximately an inch wider than the body at the wheel arch? Is that intended or just how it ended up during mock up?

Saw the same thing and thought it was intended for protection?

Ben?

If your talking about where it meets the wheel arch than it was just the angle of the pic. It is flush with the wheel arch.

If your talking about the wing sticking out past the side moulding, than that is intentional. An off-road bumpers #1 purpose is protection. It would offer little to no protection on the side if the bumper was flush with the body

I was talking about past the side molding. Thanks for the explanation.

It just seemed to me that point sticking out in the front there could easily snag an obstacle on a tighter trail.

If your on an obstacle that tight you will be thankful the bumper is snagging rather than the body! Most sliders have a small kick out on the back to hopefully push you away from that obstacle before it gets that close to the rear corner panel.

Unfortunately the laser cutter did not come through this week. I should have a full bumper on Monday they say, we will see. At the very least I should have a full 3d drawing of the main bumper.
I have the main design of the swingouts but am waiting to get the bumper together before anymore work on the swingouts.
I ordered some rotopax fuel cans that I will try and find a place for as well.

I tried to have people like a post if they wanted on the very interested list but that didn't work as planed, if you want on the list to possibly get a rear bumper and don't see your forum name on the list please pm me.
Thanks.

Still no parts, getting pretty frustrated with the laser cutter! As soon as I get the rear dialed I think I will have to search for a more reliable laser cutter that gets stuff done when they say.
They say they will have them tomorrow but they have been saying that since last Monday so we will see.

Got some pieces tacked together today, they don't fit perfectly but real close. A few more tweaks and the main bumper should be pretty well dialed in. The slots in the caps will be for the recovery points. Im hopping for this to be the best looking most functional rear bumper on the market and think I'm on the right track.

I will most likely have a cover plate for the 7pin trailer plug and have a spot for the standard 5pin plug as well. I'm still not 100% sure how I want to do the safety chain hooks but I think I may just do cutouts on the angled part on both sides of the receiver.

Any shots of the underside
Not much to show yet, right now it's just a shell. Once I get the main shell dialed in I will work on the receiver crossmember and mounting brackets.

I really like it so far! Might be cool to have bolt on option to add some rear quarter protection in the form of tube that rises off the side wing?

Liking this a lot...

Thanks! Good idea.
It is in the plans, I have been playing around with some tubing on the quarter panels already.
If I ever end up running the rubicon I do plan to have quarter panel and front fender protection.

this is looking great. are the bolts part of the final design similar to your front bumper? Im assuming it comes in 3 pieces and bolts together at the recovery points?

Right. This will make it more adjustable and an easy 1 man installation.
