So I've been shopping 80's for some time but have limited my search to 95+. I've done this because I remember reading of a few key changes in 95 but now can't remember them. I also know the 95+ has the airbag'd steering wheel that seems to be smaller in diameter.

But are the changes enough to not buy a clean 94 with low mileage is the question... Any thoughts?

Nope, I love my 94 :D

Numerous threads on the this exact topic. Little searching will refresh your memory ;)

This topic has really been beaten to death. The Search function will net you TONS of objective and non-objective info. Stay 95+ and you will be a lot happier.

93 is the best year every year after that is just a copy of the 93

LOL :flipoff2: Still love my 94.

If I were to purchase again, I would look for 95+, BUT a locked 94 with good history and PM would do in a second. :)

yup, stick with '93-'94, no pesky OBDII, airbags that pop, or that funky dash:flipoff2:

really though, '93 through the end of the solid front axle is the best land cruiser without reservation :steer:

x2 Tim on the dash. I dont like the layout on the 95+ as much.

Come on, 11 posts and nobody has brought up the "bus" transmission.

What's wrong with a bus tranny? It's better than a 4Runner tranny.

:flipoff2:

Something useful for the OP-

I just got back from a 140 mile round-trip to Ogden, all freeway, towing a trailer. Right now, my truck has the 3FE, factory 4.10's, and 35's. Loaded up, I managed an average speed of 70 MPH, and hit a max of 84 MPH (wasn't that hard, really). And got 10 MPG to boot. :D

Not bad, IMO.

People like what they have, it's human nature. I personally like the 95+ dash, bc I think the 93-4 looks too dated. however, the 95 dash also looks dated compared to new vehicles. horses for courses

No duct tape needed here, I love my 97. I like the dash, the non-curved buttons, airbags, and OBDII/Scangauge too much to get a pre-95. It was also nice not having to deal with fuel issues when I installed my S/C.

3FE?!?! Now I KNOW the OP is thinking, "screw that noise". :flipoff2:

Where's Evoking?

LOL, overwhelmed? scared to reply?? Evo jump in on your thread :)

That's what I'm saying, Joey. Just cause it's a 3FE doesn't mean it has no power. I pulled that loaded trailer just fine for 140 miles of freeway, elevation ranging from 4000-5000 feet, WITH 35's AND stock gears.

No need to be snobby just cause you have an LX. :meh:
