so you solved your problem by moving to Kampoops?

I'll keep the smoke thanks....

By the way, did I tell you how beautiful and sunny and warm it was all weekend? :D

Shorts and t's all weekend down here, even pulled out the flip flops.

Glad the move to loops was worth it, would have really sucked to move up there an not get a benefit. ;p

Ah yes, well the warm weather, lack of rain, housing market that is 100-200k less than Vic and the new job where they give me a company truck and pay me to go out to remote places in BC that I've never been to before so I can be a geek and set up satellite links and computer systems in the bush is alright too ;)

Ok, update. I have been doing some research and have verified that I have been having the clean burning effect from using D1 diesel fuel, typically sold in colder climates during the winter and at some truck stops. The D1 is sold at your typical gas station from ~Hope and north from there during the winter.

D1 diesel is very close to kerosene, while D2 is a slightly heavier (thicker) distillate, and being heavier than D1, that makes D2 a little cheaper, as well as it having more lubricity. D1 has about 95% of the heat energy of D2, so you'll get better fuel mileage with the D2 diesel. D1 has more volatility, so in the winter you can mix D1 (or kerosene) with D2 to lower the cloud point of the fuel, which is essentially winterizing the fuel.

The D1 diesel in addition to being a lighter fuel has a lower combustion point; either of these 2 factors may play a part in burning better in our 1HD-T engines. Lighter fuel may spray easier, and lower combustion point may work better if the engine is not combusting at a high enough temperature.

I'm not quite sure what's so special about Petro-Canada diesel looks like there are 2 kinds of diesel at Petro-Canada.

winter diesel aka Diesel no.1 seems to just have a higher concentration of Kerosine. but the ratio can change across Canada.

Regular Diesel and Eco Diesel

I found this about winter diesel looks like the ratio can change across Canada.

I think I have an intermittent air leak or clogged injectors but here is a before and after of running a double dose of Hot Shot's Secret Diesel Extreme in my fuel tank.
I think it should buy me time until I can save some money for an injector rebuild pump calibration and seal

It’s hard to believe in additives. But I know Hot Shot's Secret Diesel Extreme is one of the strongest next to BG244

as you can see really smoking just idle in out of the driveway.
