Heck yeah, I did! 13.5 humid, sunny miles this morning. Fast pace, never felt tired, although I expected to, since I did a spin class yesterday.

Saw a doe and her fawn on the trail, some equestrians and then in a field, a Turkey family. Tom, couple hens and a half dozen poults. Oh, also a lost woman because she was using GPS instead of maybe, ummm, a map?

All in, great ride!

got on the gravel bike again today. did my fastest time on this route. pretty boring as it’s flat straight prairie riding. i haven’t been riding much this year so to beat my best time by a couple minutes felt pretty good. now if only i could ride more regularly. gotta stop getting sick!!

also my first ride with the carbon bar and shorter stem. my hamstrings felt so much better and i could actually ride the drops!! the position of the bar makes a huge difference for comfort!

Went out again today. Hazy, hot and humid, but I rode hard. Just felt good.

So good, that somehow I snapped the rear shock bolt. Dang, proprietary bolt it seems. One half of the bolt is still stuck in the threads. Not sure if it needs to be drilled out, or if the AD can just pry apart the linkage. I’ll find out tomorrow.

Hopefully, the bolt is in stock, otherwise I’ll need to order from Pivot.

I believe all of linkage bolts on Pivot’s are proprietary. I mangled up the head on one of them last year (the flip chip bolt) and my LBS did not have any with the bike being so new but the guys at Pivot took great care of me mailing out a new bolt right away and free of charge. I was back on my bike the following weekend.

I've spent a good bit of time with the Pivot team (marketing, engineering, riders) since they are up the road from me and have spent a lot of time down here testing their new gravel offering….everything I have seen from them has been top notch--especially their customer service when things like this come up. Hope they take care of the hardware.

Whatever works for you, but that set up
I’m currently out on a ride for my “lunch” break and it’s 92. I hate it 😂

Seriously though, these Texas summers among other things have substantially increased my desire to re-locate.
Depending where you are you really can get used to it. The closest I've come to death by heat was at a high of 91 degrees in Bentonville. Sweat did nothing to cool the body in that humidity. But 104 in the TX hill country? No problem.

Beno your freind Blair: anyone who sandals an mtb/gravel bike = 👍🏻

All repaired and back on the bike. I won’t be on the trails until Monday, and then later in the week may try and scoot up to Kingdom Trails in Vermont. Really a beautiful place to ride.
