Picked up a giant vise earlier today. You don't want to know how much I paid...the only way it could be newer is if it came in the original box!

The guy had two for sale and I committed to buy both, but as I'm pulling up to his house, his buddy calls and let's him know the price he's asking is crazy too low and tries to get him to not sell them. Screw his buddy :flipoff2: trying to block my deals!

He did sell me one for his original price since I drove an hour from Durham. I'm happy as I didn't need two!

The C2 is unassumingly large until it's placed next to another decent sized vise.

Somehow I can't get my vices to attach to the bench.......................

Yeah...I can't decide where I want to mount them yet. The C2 will likely go on my welding table if I don't end up selling it...it's freaking large.

I wasn't gonna say anything about those deck screws... At least the holes will be easier to fill if you relocate it.

Haha...yeah that would be pretty gerryrigged of me!! They are just there for placement consideration...

I'm having vise envy now . . . my Yost vise is only 4.5"

Cleaned and freshened up a couple vises this weekend. A Craftsman 506-51811 that I picked up from an estate sale last weekend. Decided to paint it a color other than red...just to look different.

And this one came with a Craftsman 150 drill press I picked up a few weeks ago (which is getting refreshed as well). It's a Starrett that's the mid 1960s. Painted this one Hammerite light green.

Have you lost your damn mind? ;)

I digress...it turned out more Tarheel than I anticipated. Should fetch big bucs on Craigslist now though!
I think it looks much better than before!

One for the drill press, two for the metalworking bench, one for tooling and fine metalworking, one for woodworking, then a couple spares / collectibles.

At least 6 :D

The finish line is in site on this 1966 Craftsman 150 drill press refresh. Still waiting on the motor's paint to cure, then reassemble, wire a switch and add belts.

Before (horrible pics I know)

That looks like a Craftsman 150 Outboard motor mounted to a drill press. :D

Looks amazing.

Rice

Ha - yeah it does look like a super old outboard motor!

Just waiting on Amazon to deliver belts and a switch! I'm really happy how the paint on the motor came out even though it isn't a perfect match to original.

Picked up an older OTC 1833 press last week, which I dissembled, cleaned and painted. Was shooting for a close to new refresh but not perfect.

It spent it's life in a Raleigh Nissan dealership, stored inside and doesn't seem to leak. Got it from a scrap guy = dirt cheap .

There is a bend in the right side upright that I tried to correct. Looks like someone at some point in it's life didn't release tension from the table lift before pressing. Doesn't affect operation, just unsightly.

Before Pics!

Disassembled and scrubbed clean...was a lot of cleaning. A little wire wheeling then on to primer / paint.

Mainly complete. Waiting on purchasing a new gauge until I put this pump through its paces. If it starts to leak then I'll pickup a newer pump and gauge.

Also have some Swag press plates on their way! Fairly pleased with how it turned out. Even dissasembled the hand winch versus replacing with new.
