Congratulation on the fantastic garage.

On a past woodworking forum I was on, this size would have taken a year or more and the decisions as to what needed to be done, how it was to be done and what materials would have been determined by so many questions and a general consensus. I was amazed to see your progress.

Planning to pick this guy up to add to my shrinking area of available space...

i took my vise and cleaned it up and gave it a shiny new coat of paint a few years ago, but using it to hold metal while using the torch and spray paint, you would never know it.

I think his is 6 inch and mine is a 8 inch. Look for vise misspelled as VICE and look for Wilton spelled as WILLTON - mine was on ebay as a WLLLTON VICE with two L's and vise was misspelled as VICE. I won for the opening bid. IIRC they also did not have a picture. It came in a box that looked like it had been around for very long time with a few places the paint was worn down and a few spots of rust but had never been used. I was stoked.

^ Good advice right there. Helped me find an 8" newer model (not that nice classic) Wilton "vice" on craigslist.

Ever since seeing that picture of Jon's, I can't stop looking at these things on eBay. I have a rather cheap vise that clamps okay, but the swivel won't lock (never did). What size is this?

This one is a model 9400 Wilton Bullet. Jaws are 4.5" with a weight around 60lbs. Be careful becoming interested in these things as it easily creates a vise vice.

also check how far the jaw opens. I can do u-joints on mine with a socket\pipe on both sides.
It's only a 4 in. vise, but it opens just over 8"

Can someone check out for me , and pick up?

Thanks Johnny, for picking it up for me!

I saw a beautiful 8" Wilton on my neighbors shop floor a couple weeks ago and complemented him on it.
"Auction?" I asked.
"Yep. Was in the bottom of a big box I bid on. $2"
:crybaby:
