Autometer has some cool looking gauges, kinda pre-1970s looking. You could mount it on a little L shaped bracket I suppose. Or maybe even bolt it on the steering column with a pod kinda thing. Or, if you go the electronic route, put in a Tee by the present oil pressure sender and put in another one for the new gauge (their ohm ranges are likely different from stock) and run a wire to the gauge with a quick connect and put a magnetic base on a gauge so you could have it stick to the dash. Then at least you could take it off for show purposes.

torn with using the old worn white lenses or the new ones which are yellow, probably end up going with the old worn ones that are white...
Thoughts?

my stock oil pressure gauge seems to work well enough :meh:

My 65/40 which was red had white running boards, and for the grab handle fasteners, early FJ25 and FJ40's had round head phillips screws, I would have to look at some early or 1964 photo's to see if they changed to hex head bolts. Is that what yours had when you dissasembled the dash? Your F.D knob went out today. John

Oh good catch on the bolts for the grab handle :D
I will swap em out tomorrow :D

Thanks for the F.D. knob!

Ordering some white pyramid plastic tomorrow :D

Are you buying extra mat? I could use two sets if you feel like cutting more...not been able to get to do mine done yet :frown:

Not sure that'a a number 8. I think it's a picture of a bulb. But the answer is yes. They were stock in the early cruiser at least thru 65.

Sweet, I managed to find the light fixture in ( figure number 8 )
See what it is like when it shows up :D

It is nice out today, will take some photos with the fenders on in an hour or so.

:D

Do any one of you know of an unobstrusive/ stockish looking below the dash oil pressure gauge?
I like to be able to monitor my oil pressure, unless you guys think the stock gauge is accurate.

Hi Destin, Your truck is looking Great!

I didn't want to cut up my dash for an oil gauge so I added a little bracket below the dash and installed an autometer gauge. I piggybacked the oil gauge bracket on a bolt for the steering column bracket. My truck is a few years newer than your's so I'm not sure if this will work on yours.

Here's a pic
