does toyota carry the rubber vacuum hose clamps and fire wall metal 2 mounting bracket for the upper metal line?

:D

Check with Mark if Toyota sells it new, Mark can get It too.

The Old OEM Vacuum hoses are modo strong my hose guy could not come up with anything close so I silicone them up and re used them and the clamps too.

Would be great to get the lil clamps etc :D

So THIS is what you're working on!

First time here. Looks pretty thorough, but what's up with that green paint on the starter and generator?:barf: I have several early starters for sale that still have good STOCK paint.:)

Anyways, I just wanted to use a little bandwidth to post pics of Destin's award-winning carb. And I say award winning because it has to be the MOST WARPED carb I've ever seen!

Never seen one warp here before:

And then there was this amusing surprise waiting for me inside!

Did I mention that someone drilled a 3/8" hole in the throttle body and inserted a tube [presumably for a pcv hose] directly into the throttle body?

Kind of like that one-eyed, three legged dog that answers to the name of ...LUCKY!;p

I will try and take pics of the 'massaging' I did on the carb later today. After straightening out what I could with the judicious use of blocks, clamps, prybars and a vice, I took a couple of different files to both the air horn and the fuel bowl to 'match' the two pieces to one another. This is the third time I have had to resort to this [fourth if you count the throttle body issue on my 45!] and all have worked out well.

This one required SO MUCH FILING that I am considering installing this carb on my truck for a test drive before sending it back to destin, which is something I never do. Partly it's just because I'm so dang curious to see if that chopped up 2bbl float even works.:hillbilly:

Thanks Mark :)

haha damn that is pretty warped!

I am thinking it may have become warped because the heat riser in the manifold was stuck closed, blowing hot air up... maybe? ( fixed the heat riser )

haha yeah, looks like some one had also tried to patch the float with glue at one time too :)
Haha, maybe we should replace it?

Thanks for the photos man :D
Cannot wait to have a pristine carb and a smooth running machine :D
Now I might even get decent gas milage as well ( was leaking pretty bad before, at least smelled like it )

My starter is the wrong color green?
s***e, I was told that was the correct color :(

thanks man!

btw, do you have a decent condition long jumpseats that would fit my year?
Mine are rusty :(

installed the rebuilt drivelineS today :D

Hey Mark,

Should my carb have an insulator with the PCV tube between the manifold and the carb base?
PO had it bolted directly to the manifold, and yes, they had the PCV hooked up to that tube that was drilled into the throttle body. ( WTF i knew that did not seem right )

if I need a spacer with the PCV connector on it let me know ( maybe i can add it onto my order with the extra hours for filing everything to fit )

Thanks :D

yes.. that black hose going across to this:

or just cap both ends. Mark has http://www.marksoffroad.net/1specials/insulator01.html or get that and drill it and tread it to accept a fitting for a hose

Destin, I have carb insulators that are drilled and fitted with the PCV tube as well.

And I have a few pairs of the early jump seats, including one pair in the original salmon colored vinyl!

Call me tomorrow. I'm heading out of the casa now for a concert.
