Not so important ;) but original Toyota fuel hoses looked like this
(textile outside)
390075.jpg

Original fuel hoses from the tank to the filter and filter to pump were translucent up until sometime up to the seventies. I've substituted yellow Tygon hoses but the O.D. is not as big and it takes some fiddling to make the stock collars work.

It could be your fuel pump ain't original. But that's ok.

Destin,

FYI, on my 63, the original fuel pump (best I could tell) was shaped quite differently and had a wire handle one could use to manually pump the fuel. I guess that was in case of no battery to crank the engine and the crank start was used?? Just a thought.

On the hand crank thing, my crank pulley has ramped tabs to engage a hand crank? It looks not unlike my '46 Ford tractor. Hand cranking a cruiser would be miserable. I guess then you would need a manual fuel pump. You might have to hand crank all day if you had run out of gas.

Oh well, don't sweat some things too much. Just no Dana axles for originality's sake.:p

I know that the early Cruiser came with translucent hoses, but these look like kit car parts  (terrible !!!! ...would never put them in a rebuild Cruiser)
Textile hoses look vintage ;)
My 1973 came with textile hoses.
Cheers

The one i am rebuilding has a lever to hand prime the pump :D
Super handy if it has been sitting :)

I think it is the correct fuel pump for the year however.

:D

I may have found some clear line at a boat shop here in town :D

If they can reuse my old connectors i might be good to go

damn what a process!

:D

that fuel pump....

Somehow I missed that your fuel pump was with the manual pump lever. Cool. Good luck with the fuel hose set up. If you do get someone to duplicate it let me know. Mine are the translucent ancient ones. They don't leak but I don't trust them either.

Engine looks good. Did you just clean it up or did you replace your distributor? Did you replace the wires?

Thanks man :)

The cap and wires are new from a tune up when i bought the truck :D

Waiting on the oil canister and the filters now :D

what else can I do i wonder?

I hate waiting :D

My upholstery has me on hold while she is covering couches for them.

Craziest thing I have ever seen, cut from solid block foam, crazy angles and sharp edges with no curves of any kind. I have no idea how she is going to do it.

It is a sectional of three pieces that look nothing alike or even fit together but they do.

FYI the lead designer for ACG line of shoes is a cruiser nut and forum member.

 You're crazy.. when's the next time the tub will be off the frame? Might as well do it now while you can.

Can't believe you were thinking about skipping it, looks beautiful, hope I have the patience to do a nice one someday. :)
