nice thanks :D

Yeha I might get a tube bender and flanger and bend the copper myself like you suggested.
Easy peasy.

Cool, just a little goop on the gasket against the block, sounds good.
Ordered new bolts from SOR, but I plan on rebuilding an original pump i bought from wesintl.
Hopefully the diaphragm will swap between them easily :)

I haven't rebuilt one in a few years but it pretty straight forward. Years ago Toyota offered a rebuild kit for the fuel pump for cheap. Guess they figure why sell you a kit when they can sell you the whole pump. Wonder if I look at the michrofiche for the early years if there is a part number for the kit. Maybe Mot can see if they sell it in Japan.

are the kits from say a 1969? the same a earlyer 1964? ....is it the hand primer pump you got?

here is a 1969:
ToyoDIY.com

yeah picked up a hand primer pump ( need to fab the eyelet bar but that is easy )

If the 69 kit is the same ( and they are still around ) that would be great :D

Otherwise i try to swap parts or make them from hat video :D
Thanks again for the video link Peter!

MOT, if they still have them in japan i would be interested :D
Dean, if you have the part number I would be interested in finding out if one still is around :)

I think the parts from the hand primer fuel pump with interchange with the later stuff. When I say later I mean last sixties early seventies. I know the late FJ40 had a different fuel pump.

damn what a day.

spent the better part of the day looking for something i would think was simple.
Basically needed two more of these joints ( I have all the male parts, just neded the outter female bit and the inverted flange bit )

Well apparently every one ( 10 dif places ) said this does not exist )
apparently the out nut is 13 mill?

If any one has 2 of these they do not need i am in need :D

But found fugly newer hardware to get the same thing, but would prefer to use the old stuff.

Anyway take a peek, mocked up the splash guard and hoses so i could cut the proper lengths. once i rebuild the fuel pump ( and install the front drive line ) I will put it together for real.

Anyway take a look, does this look right?

And the fuel pump that needs to be rebuilt ( will do this tomorrow i hope if all goes well )

hmm looks like part number

90404-13105

I have the right side of the fuel pump sorted, i just wanted flanged bits to connect the soft hose on the left hand side of the pump and on either side of the filter.

I have the parts that fit in the filter and the pump, but the nut and the flange bits i do not have ( like in the photo )

I guess i should call Dan monday and see if it is still around...

what for... looks like you have black line hooked up?

Hey Destin, you have my respect for looking for all these really hard to find parts...and when you find some, plus extras, please keep me in mind, as I'll need some too

My advice to you...now that the frame, and tub will be complete, plus a nice sprucing up of the engine...get her running, and make her safe. All these little bits can be found, and swapped in at a later date. You will have all sorts of time to hunt these parts down...get her back on the road as soon as you can, and enjoy it

Thanks man :D

what year did they stop using the clear fuel line for the lines before the pump?

I have clear lines from the tank to a hidden inline filter after it comes outta the frame, then i goes to the black lines :D

I have another small chunk of clear line, but it is not long enough to run up to the filter to the pump.

Happy to use it if you know where to get it :D
