I know I am a royal pain-in-the-ass on this subject, but when Woody gets back from KOH, I would appreciate an official response from the chief. Please request on my behalf.

It's Woody's world, not mine. He makes the rules. If major (and who defines that?) runs stay, well, what about the smaller runs, why don't they get a fair shake? And if they stay, what about me posting up that I'm going out this weekend and looking for any other 100's that want to come along? It's not that there's anything wrong with those threads, but they aren't tech, and that type of thread already has a place on this board. So, instead of subjectively saying one thread about a trail run gets to stay, another doesn't, they move. I already had someone crying about your Roundup thread stating that I was showing favoritism to the TLCA by letting it stay in the section for the couple weeks it did.

Get over it already. I hate whining.

I do the 80's section and each section is a little different with the same core rules about chat doesn't belong in tech. There is a gray area which is left up to each moderator to decide

These are volunteer positions and take a lot of time. We don't get paid for the services we provide other than the great feeling of being apart of this section. Frankly, I am proud of what all of us have done to make mud what it is today. Moderating is my way of giving back to all the help I have gotten here and on the trail.

Cory and Eric have worked this section for years and created a place people can come and not feel afraid to ask for help. I think sometimes the other participants jump too much on the " You need to search" bandwagon, but thats a personal preference. I have tended to provide an answer and suggest the search with key words.

This is not a public entity. This is a privately held forum. woody delegates a lot to his moderators and allows each moderator to put a bit of him/her self into their section.

Each section is a bit different based on who is moderating and that difference is based on the different types of vehicles, members and the hard work each moderator has put into it.

Frankly, if you are unhappy with the way Cory and Eric are running this section, then you can chose not to participate. They have given you a platform here to air your comments and concerns when they could have easily shut this thread down.

This forum is not about making it what seems fair to you and each individual member. It's about providing a resource and a place you can come and discuss the hobby in woodys house. There are different rooms in woody's house for each subject. Sometimes a subject that isn't deemed tech has a value to the moderators to leave it at the threshold for a period of time before moving it to another room. True, its subjective, but worrying about being second guessed by members would lead to paralysis and poor morale on the moderators part. We have given years of our time to help this be a better place.

We can't make everyone happy, nor can we be perfect. We are Humans, volunteeers with real jobs and families and have to make many judgement calls trying to keep woodys house a happy place to be. Not everyone will agree with how we do it, but then again they don't have to.

You guys should know by now that I always welcome questions and comments and will give folks the benefit of the doubt whenever appropriate. I trust you also know that one thing I simply won't tolerate here is personal attacks on other participants or gratuitously nasty comments.

And to help clear up things if still necessary, there are many reasons why I might leave a marginal thread in the forum when it comes to a judgment call, mostly having to do with maintaining and developing a congenial and welcoming community atmosphere. Which marginal threads remain or not will depend on the topic, context, potential, humor content, and whether folks involved have been good technical and community contributors otherwise.

Anybody with questions that I can't answer, administrative issues, requests for "official" opinions, complaints etc should feel free to contact Woody, of course.

Mud is a great place and great resource. Let's all keep working on keeping it that way!
