Even though painting is some time in the very very far future, I was looking through my dad's old paint code books, and I found this blue. I compared it to the Toyota blue which is similar, but this is a little bit darker. Ironically, it's off of a 1974 Ford (I'm in the middle of a 77 Bronco build). Tell me what you think. The link is to the basket case FJ I bought, and inside that thread is a link to my 77 Bronco build. Does it ever stop?????

I think you should paint it an original Toyota color and save the Ford colors for your EB.

I dig it. You realize you need to paint the Bronc a toyota color to keep the universe in balance. OK, maybe not. That'll look good on the 40.

I made the mistake once of painting a car from a small color sample...the sample looked sooo nice, but the car turned out

You could try to photo shop it, and see what it would look like, (wish I could have done that 20 years ago) or just use the Toyota color...Capri or Sky or Horizon blue all look great on 40s :bounce:

If you want that smurf blue OEM toy, I found a dead on match with ACE hardware Safety blue.

I rattle canned mine but I did the whole truck for under 50 bucks, had two cans left over.

The hinge I had was OEM. Then I sprayed the hood to color match. Dead on.
