Location
land of enchantment, at least for now
Date: December 12th, Saturday
Time: 5pm
Where: Home of Han and Keith

Is this going to be a standard meeting or turn it into a little xmas party? I remember some nice xmas meetings in years past.

Doesn't matter to us - we'll have a tree and stockings will be hung.... XMas party would be fun though.

if Kieth and Han are up for it, then let's do it. :grinpimp:

Sat 12/12, not sure what time.

Does the club have money for a xmas door prize/gift? Maybe doesn't matter if we didn't vote at the last meeting. Or would it be fun to do a $10 white elephant gift exchange (or whatever that's called)? Or just food and fun?

Thanks David.

Oh well, Delta Xmas party is this night....at least the January meeting I will make considering it will be at my house....

Time wise 5pm will work for the early birds and we can run as late as people want to go.

Who do I PM then address to so they can get the directions up on the website?

Thought from my Marine side. If people would like to bring a small toy I will consolidate all and bring to the Marines Toys-4-Tots program on behalf of HDC. Will help out those in need and give us some exposure perhaps. Just my input.

I think the door prize idea is good. and then, just food and fun. is there interest in a white elephant exchange?

vote for or against a door prize in this thread. and let's also start posting what food items we are bringing so that all bases can get covered.

Door prize could be fun, as well as white elephant exchange. I'll probably plan on bringing a pizza.

Doesn't the club have enough money to have a xmas party/dinner at restaurant or a banquet hall? If we must have the party at someone's house then let's have it catered. The host can relax and not have to worry about cooking or cleaning (as much).

I'd like to see some of the membership funds come back to the members unless there's a compelling reason to have a min balance in our account. A break from potlucking may not be a bad thing!

$877 in the checking account.
$290 in Paypal.
We need some for t-shirts.

I was thinking of suggesting the club funds get some good food. restaurants don't work, we've tried that. banquet hall maybe, but I personally feel a house is fine. will we have enough people to have it catered? we're talking like 15-20 people.
I don't mind cooking a ham and turkey if the club is paying and then for some traditional side stuff. people wouldn't have to potluck that way.

opinions?

I like that idea Shawn. We already have a host.

Rudy's BBQ does a great job with party size trays and I know for sure you can get turkey, but not sure of Ham. I have no idea what the cost is though.

I am pretty sure they do ham.

Since we already have a host, I like the idea of the club picking up some X-mas food for us. Rudy's does do turkey and they also have great ham. There's even a west-side Rudy's. That would be pretty hard to argue with.

Rudy's does both, and even has a public safety hookup:

They provided the protein when some folks were doing a 'Can't Be Home 4 Christmas' feed for PS, which has since, sadly, gone by the wayside. I worked it a few years, and benefited from it another... amazing powerful watching random people work together to make a meal for cops n firefighters, even years after 9/11. :soapbox over:
