Bucca is tastier than O Garden

That could be a good way to go, to let them bring all the food and accessories. I think we can afford it and it saves the hassle of one of us having to pick it up. Sounds good to me.

I don't mind the hassle of picking up food. They are right down the street from me. Plus the 80 should be ready by then. Ha

Xmas meeting & dinner plans

Our annual meeting/dinner is planned for 12/15/12, next Saturday (time?). It sounds like we're leaning toward Buca Di Beppo to cater the feast. If we're going to go with this vendor, let's plan out the menu and any other details. I'd like to avoid placing a large group dinner order at the last minute if possible.

The Williams have graciously volunteered their casa to host the shindig and I'd like to make it as easy as possible for them. By this I mean, have the food delivered piping hot, set up the table with everything as needed.

Link to their Catering service: http://www.bucadibeppo.com/catering/ "our professional stuff will deliver your order ($100 minimum) for a flat fee at select locations. We include table cloths, plates, napkins, eating and serving utensils and condiments."

Let's get a head count so that we can come up with a menu. Here's the catering menu: http://www.bucadibeppo.com/Catering/Menu

Shawn mentioned giving him some money so that he provide some home brew and that sounds great to me.

Jon, how would you like us to proceed with placing the dinner order?

I received a $20/discount from them ($200+ order) that we can use, probably will pay for the delivery fee, LOL! It says for "party pans" to go so this may or may not qualify.

Let me know if I forgot something!

Thanks.

Ahlen family should be there if everyone is healthy by Saturday. My menu preferences, 1 from each category, would be:
Pasta - Spicy Chicken Rigatoni
Baked - Chicken Cannelloni
Entrees - Proscuitto Stuffed Chicken

I didn't even look at the menu yet and those look awesome!

Jill mentioned stopping at Flying Star for a couple deserts if we want(if there's nothing on Bucca's part). she will pick it up.
I mentioned the $ for beer thing if everyone wanted to take some with them afterward. I am fine with providing free beer and keeping the left overs. (I have to brew less often that way). it costs me about $30 per 5 gallons(1 keg or 2 cases worth).

on tap/ cabonating right now-
Bavarian Hefeweizen (The Amazing Spideyweizen)
English IPA (H.M.S. IPA)
Irish Porter (Grace O'Malley- Irish Pirate Porter)

Do we need to pay ahead of time? I can get a check to the person doing the ordering.

I'm thirsty.

Count the Boltreks in.

Ellen and I are planning to attend. Marc's choices sound good. Maybe we could also consider adding a lasagna to the order, maybe a mixed green salad and/or Caesar salad. Fettucine Alfredo is also good.

Shawn had mentioned desserts - they do offer some and they all sound good. Maybe a Tiramisu and/or cannolis?

Just some suggestions - I'm sure we'll be fine with whatever gets ordered.

Ali - thanks for organizing!

I'd say whoever is ordering and coordinating the food gets final say in what gets ordered. I'll eat just about anything. My only request is that if there are some seafood items ordered, we make sure there are non-seafood items as well and we keep them separated for people with bad reactions to shellfish.

We could order desserts or ask folks to bring desserts to contribute. But tiramisu and cannoli are fantastic too.

Count us in Ben, Pat, Ma and Pa. We will eat most anything.
I assume we will be doing the white elephant thing again.

Let's break tradition and bring NOTHING food related to this special event! Whole purpose of catering the food in is to make it easy for the attendees.

Thanks for the reminder on the White Elephant. Yes, please bring a gift (valued <$5) with you and the goofier the better!

List of club members attending so far. As a simple courtesy, if you can't make it after you see your name on the list, please let us know!

Our count has been reduced to 3. Colin will be attending a party with his Boy Scout Troop.

What time will this start so I can make sure to plan around dropping off and picking up Colin?

Bucca's site says they deliver for a flat fee. I have no problem picking it up and setting up, or someone picking it up and and I set up. I can also get plates, cups, plastic flatware, etc... seriously it's no problem.

I'd rather have more $ for a large donation. it's already over $400 for the "feeds 20" plan.

did you order yet Ash?what are we getting?

start time can be earlier, like 4 or 5.

I vote 4 if it's all the same to you lads. The earlier it is the longer we can hang out before Liam loses it. He's usually in bed by 7:30....we lead a pretty wild life round these parts.

I'm going to try to make it. I have a lot to get done on Saturday, so if I get done early, and accidently forget the GF's birthday, it would only be me. I can eat like a bird (have to watch my girlish figure), and don't care what the food is to eat, so no need to worry about this one more.
